What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Carrying something new today. I hope everyone is having a great weekend. :)

The Oeser is great, but I want to know about the Scotch! I've just gotten into Scotch and I have no idea what to expect with different bottles. So far I've only had Glenfiddich 12 year and Laphroaig 10 year.

Great find. Sooner or later I will get one too. Probably not an easy knife to track down, but there must be one out there waiting for me.
Queen jack for me today:

Todd Isa 53 - Great pair of knives. Who makes the knife slip your using?

Thank you sir... The guy who makes this pocket slip is on instagram at Hanks by Hank. He makes some really cool stuff.

Hillbillie Hippy, that Buck is classic!!:thumbup:
Maybe I'm easily influenced at the end of a long, busy week, but I think I need to get one of those iconic black Bucks. :D:cool::D

Primble Naturally an impressive composition, but that mellow handle just shrieks "Grip me":D::thumbup: Handsome knife by a long chalk.

Thanks, Will

Much appreciated Will. :thumbup::)

Not a crack. It's more like the hole for the pin was drilled right on a "grain" of the bone.
Trade??:D

Brett, I'm very pleased that all is well with your lovely little girl :)

Jack Black - Love the blade etch!

Thanks CC, lovely Barlow, some great pics of those 77s here

This one for example, great photo Nick

Wow Stephen, that looks incredible my friend :) Nice-looking whisky collection too

I'm off to this place today - http://www.jodrellbank.net/ - Jodrell Bank, driving via the beautiful Peak District, and then going for lunch in one of my favourite pubs. I'm carrying these two...

...I'm also going to make room for this small Corsican Vendetta that I picked up the other day :)

Have a great Sunday everyone

Sorry, for the slow responses, but I took my wife out on a belated Valentine's date and got in late.

Gary & Gevonvich - I was lucky enough to pick this one up on the Exchange last week. It's 3 1/2" closed with CPM 154 blades and springs (blades at 60RC), stainless liners, shield and pins. Yellow canvas over G10 covers. I've been on Jared's email list for some time, but always too slow when he posts new knives for sale. That said, I was excited to finally acquire one of his knives, and especially a wharncliffe trapper. What else can I tell you about it? The fit & finish are extraordinary... this one's put together like a swiss watch. :D

Sean - I'm probably not the best person to ask about Scotch as I'm far from an expert. The only advice I'd be comfortable providing you would be to drink in moderation and try different types and brands to see what you prefer. As a general rule, the older it is - the more expensive and desirable it usually is. I believe I've got a couple bottles of Macallan (12 & 15 year old), as well as, a bottle of 15 year old Balvenie in my photo along with a couple bottles of Bourbon. My preferences tend to lean more to Speyside distillers, as evidenced by the Macallan and Balvenie bottles in the photo. Single Malts seem to be all the rage, but I wouldn't discount good blended whiskies either. In my opinion, you can spend a lot more, but it's hard to beat Johnny Walker Black Label at any price point. Again, I'm far from an expert or connoisseur though, so please don't rely too heavily on my advice. Truth be told, I actually prefer a good Kentucky Bourbon to Scotch, but despite the bottles in the photo, drink very little of anything these days.

Primble - Thank you for the compliment on the Oeser, and rest easy as I had only a single glass of Knob Creek with dinner. ;) I thought the light playing through a few bottles might make for a nice backdrop, but obviously lack your skills to produce a really fine photo. I enjoyed seeing your photo of the sheepsfoot Charlow and was happy to know that it got a bit of pocket time today. :)

Hope the two of you had a great Valentine's date Stephen :)

Thanks my friend! We had a very enjoyable evening, and I hope that you're having a good weekend as well.

Edit: I missed your previous post as we were apparently posting at approximately the same time. I hope you have a nice drive over to Jodrell Bank. It looks like a fascinating place, and I hope we get to see some photos when you get back. Wow! The Corsican Vendetta is terrific. Great score on that one.
