I used the forum favorite apple cider vinegar. I ran into initial problems with the vinegar not wanting to "stick to" certain parts of the blade. A surface tension issue, I assume. So I mixed in some Dawn dishwashing liquid into the vinegar. The Dawn gave the vinegar just enough stick that the job became quite easy.
