What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Hey guys!...just have a look at the knives you are so lucky to carry on this page alone!!
I am carrying an old Sheffield Humpreys slippie!, its the wooden handled one in this photo...please forgive me as it doesnt get up there with the quality that some of these knives are.....but in a funny sort of way it does?...the age of the thing, and once I cleaned it up.. its a beaut , and man does this thing have walk and talk..the snap just has to be like new-I couldnt imagine it being any stronger...and now razor sharp!!
I just love using it.

Nice one! I'm a sucker for those old Sheffield knives... they're really in a class of their own, especially when you think about how long ago they were made and how well they hold up over DECADES of use.

I just used this knife a few minutes ago to peel and quarter an apple.

And it's still that pristine and shiny after apple slicing:D:thumbup:

Nice sweep to that blade Christian.

Today I carried my 'car knife' one traditional is always in the car in a leather slip. I rotate them a bit, in came a Böker Whittler which I carried, replaced by a Buck 309 yellow handle.

William,

Unfortunately that blade is destined to remain shiny as it is composed of stainless BG-42. Not as interesting as 1095, but it took a superb edge. I'm looking forward to seeing how well it does in edge retention, you don't often find the better stainless steels offered in production slipjoints.

Besides my Dutch army knife, I'm carrying one of my latest acquisitions: an Imperial Schrade sodbuster. It's a small one, about 9.2 cm closed. It cuts very well and feels good in the hand. The handle is much thinner than my old Friedrich Herder, so it slips in the pocket very easily. I noticed that the spring on the back is not very strong. When using the knife, I can very easily pull the blade down with my thumb. But for normal use I think this isn't a problem.

Edit: together with the Friedrich Herder.

This went along for the snow campout yesterday and today. This was when new, the blades are developing a nice patina now.

Put my Böker Canoe in the pocket today. In about an hour I'll go visiting the polders of the province of Flevoland to go spotting birds of prey. That's another hobby of mine.

Well, I'm carrying that mini copperhead with boring regularity these days. Sometimes I have something else along too, but almost always have the mch with me. It's Mack's fault that I have this knife. Thanks Mack!

Mine is the one knife that is always with me. Others will rotate in and out but the mini is always there.

Same thing I carry everyday Pinky. (P & B reference). My Queen Winterbottom single blade, swell end jack and the battered SAK Classic. Okay, I did swap the Queen out yesterday for a yellow handled Boker Plus lockback I just got so I could give it a solo ride. But the Queen goes right back into the pocket today. I seem to carry the same knives everyday except for special occasions or maybe on an non-work day I may change up if I'm going into town and just want something different.

Since the day I received it, my 2010 forum moose has been in my pocket. Just a great knife for what I do day to day. :D:thumbup:
