What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Man-Oh-Menefee!!!

Nothing special, just a Old Timer med. Stockman 340T (imported). Nice little knife for small daily tasks.

I got it mainly because my Grandpa has one, only his is smaller. Like they used to put on the boxes, I just wanted "a knife like Grandad's."

I have a few different knives that I use, but I keep coming back to this one.

I've been totin' this Rough Rider Locking Trapper the last couple days.
It's full sized at 4-1/8" closed, and has the feature of depressing the closed secondary Wharncliffe blade to unlock the master leaf-shaped clip.
Hafted in amber jigged bone.

And yes, with a good deal of practice it can be one-hand opened, but not very quickly.
There just isn't enough depth of frame to hang on to.

Interesting knife there Jeff. I've got a large Stag Weidmannsheil that has the same locking arrangement no Sp**** opening hole though.

Carried around a Northfield Half Congress in stag later today, wish its sibling in stainless would turn up, it was sent out 22nd Dec and still no sign of it:mad: Looks like Mr Lightfinger must've taken a fancy to it for Christmas,

Got this yesterday as a gift from a friends collection. Al Mar - Eagle w/ Ivory Micarta (20+ y/o). It sits in my back pocket perfectly.

bdt0307 - I have been searching for the Almar series with the beautiful ivory micarta and would love to have an Eagle. Your friend gave you an outstanding knife.

edited to add...I would estimate it much closer to 30 years old. Bought the single Ivory micarta folding skinner I have back when I was 16 and that was 32 years ago.

Elliott, awesome looking stockman! I love green canvas handles!
I'm "just" going to carry the queen canoe acsb probably, like in most of the last days...

EDIT: ROTLF, that damn queen slipped in my pocket again so it's it for today
I like the idea of the pen blade, being in the library studying it's fine to have a smaller blade in case the large one may scary someone...
