What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Jack,I hope to see your Washington Jack soon and looking as good as your forum knife. :D

Carrying this Electrician today.

Thanks Dave, nice Electrician

I LOVE THE EMPIRE Dave!!! Our family owned a furniture store named "Empire Home Furnishings" for nearly fifty years...so I collect anything EMPIRE related. I had the same knife with just the screwdriver blade only:thumbup:

I'll add it to my list of your collectibles Paul! :D  You're overdue for a package :o

I hope everyone's been doing well. I haven't been around much lately, but hope to change that as I miss checking in with all of you on a regular basis. I've been carrying the knife below since it was delivered on Saturday.

I suspect that we've all been captivated by a particular knife at one time or another. For me, that knife is/was a Rosewood JBF Eureka Jack. From the first time I saw a photo of one and then read the story behind the covers and the knives themselves, I've been obsessed with finding one. As a matter of fact, the hunt for that specific knife is what brought me to this forum for the first time (a very happy consequence of my search). Well sometime back, Mike (galvanic1882) contacted me and offered to help me with my hunt. A very kind and gracious offer by Mike and one that I greatly appreciate. So after a nearly two year search, Mike contacted me to let me know that he found me a set of the Eureka Jacks, as well as, a set of first run JBF Champlin Teardrop Jacks. What to say after so long a search? Archimedes exclamation seems fitting, "Eureka!" :D

Again, I hope you're all doing well and having a great week. And Mike, thanks again my friend! :)

Congratulations Stephen, and well done Mike, great-looking knife my friend  I've also been very busy, but hope to catch up soon (I've been meaning to post a Barlow thread for 3 weeks :o)

I've got my #66 in my pocket today :)

Eureka is the apt word Stephen!:D Beautiful knife, I think the frame would also look good as a single-blade with Clip, something I floated for last year's Forum Knife.

I fancy some stag today, but which one??

Congratulations!!!! I'm right there with ya! The minute I read the story about the salvaged rosewood I was on the phone with Mike reserving a set. I have one of the bone handled teardrops as well. Now on with the search for an ebony teardrop.......and Oh boy, how cool would it be to have one of the rosewood teardrops!!:D

Carrying these today..............

Jack - I always enjoy seeing your 66. I hope that things slow down to a manageable pace for you, not least of all because I look forward to your Barlow thread. ;) :)

Will - Thank you sir. Some wonderful stag you've got to choose from today. I likewise fancied some stag today. :)

Mark - Thanks! I agree with you on how nice it would be to find a rosewood teardrop, but I'm not up for another quest just yet. ;) I do now have an ebony teardrop that I hope to carry later in the week. That's a fine ebony pair you're carrying today. I especially like the Coats.

combatjiujitsu - wonderful patina on that one.

Primble - thank you my friend! That's a stunning half whittler you're carrying, and those redbone covers are about as nice as it gets

Bob - beautiful! I love the EO notch, long pull and swedge on that one.

J_Curd - Thanks! I think I'm going to take a break and enjoy that one for a while before taking on any new conquests. That's a gorgeous Davison your carrying this morning. I can sympathize with your travails with Planes, Trains & Automobiles. Hope you have a good trip though.

After carrying the Rosewood Eureka Jack for the past three days, I decided to put it some place safe for a while and am instead carrying this Stag Eureka Jack today.

Thanks a lot Stephen :) Yes, I need to hang out here more than I have been these past couple of weeks! :D

That's a great photo of a lovely knife my friend :)

Pete, seeing your photos of your Rossignol Lagiuole make me want to carry mine

Thanks, you know anytime I carry either one of my Laguioles or Opinels I ask myself why have I picked up so many other knives? They are what I started with and excel at work and play

Pete

My Fox "el cheapo" Pattada. Still a delightfull knife, sharp and light as a feather.

That pattada still looks like a beauty to me. The 420HC they use on the standard ones may not be the best steel available but they're wonderful nevertheless. Razor sharp with a few strokes on the ceramics with mine. Lovely bone handles on yours~
