What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

I have yet to get a full-sized one Jim, but the two I have, the one I'm carrying today and the Squirrel, I really like. I've always thought the blade-shape looked very odd, but when you get it in hand, the cut-outs make perfect sense don't they? :)
The blade shape works great as a pincher. The rear scallop provides a secure finger or two placement for precise blade control when required. Other than that, indeed a very odd blade-shape !!!

I got this GEC 92 off the exchange and it arrived yesterday. I have noticed a trend with myself when I get a new (to me) GEC: If I give it a “treatment” (sharpening, sanding of the liners to make everything flush, waxing the wood, etc.) then it is a keeper that I have immediately taken to. If I just oil the joints/blades and put it away for later than I should just pass the knife on because I won’t carry it often if I don’t take to it right away.

Having said that… I sharpened and pocketed this 92 before even taking my shoes off last night… I think I’m hooked on the Eureka!

As I say, I only have the wee one, and I don't hunt or fish anymore (I'm saving my relapse until I retire ;) ), but that clip makes the point so easy to cover when skinning or gutting, and as you say, the rear cut-out allows precise control of the blade in a couple of positions. Whoever designed it knew what they were doing :D

Here in Europe it's my today and your tomorrow:D Time for bed soon too, but before heading to the flop-house here's the postman's latest delivery and my carry for the day.

What riches may he bring next time? I'm hoping for an Orchard set by a Creek:watermelon:

Thanks, Will

Thank you Jack! I sleep very little, wish it were different.

Well, there's always knives to mull over during the long watches....

Nice knives everyone.

I am carrying this Robeson Teardrop jack and stainless Maratac flashlight that I received from my friend Paul Hilborn Thank you Paul!:cool:

Beautiful knives in this thread! I especially like this one, David. Funny how a 21st century, high tech flashlight can look so appropriate with a traditional style pocket knife.

Thanks Scott - that is very kind of you to say. Yes - sometimes the high-tech and the old-school go quite well together :)
