Felt like something old today:

Ebony again these past two days. Short and squat yesterday, but long and lean with a late lunch today. I hope all of you enjoy the rest of the week. :)

A pretty lunch and a nice little knife to boot - that lunch looks awfully skimpy. ;):D

A real beauty Gevo - love that sabre ground main blade.:thumbup::)

Totin" my mater slicin' 48 today :D And I put it to some good use at lunch, fresh sliced home grown mater and bologna sandwich :D:eek::D:eek:

A great choice to carry Ron.:)

Thanks Ron and Tim. I appreciate that.

Paul - Now that shot seems like a great day is happening; Feet proped up, what looks to be an iced tea, and a 73 with developing patina. Doesn't get much better.

Pete, that's a perfectly patinaed pair of "cult classics"! ;)

This one again. It's like a Doc Watson record...it gets lots of play time
...
I can see why! That's a positively perfect pearl pen!!:thumbup:

GT : Thanks for your kind comments on my 73 . It appears to be stuck in my pocket since it came and it may turn into my EDC if I am not careful. I carried it all day today.
...Harry
I can see why! (I'm repeating myself, but it's Friday night at the end of a looong week.) Your stag 73 is splendid, but I'm almost as impressed with the background you've been using for recent photos. Markesharp recently gifted me a little L. F. & C. penknife, and I've been trying to learn something about that company. Any story you can tell about your Landers, Frary, & Clark "boards"?

i love it!
i come back and folks are already busting out the texas jacks

ahhh right ;)
Ryan, you just have to accept the fact that you're a natural leader of men!! :D

I toted my KA-BAR-LO:
...
That's a beauty, Dadpool! :cool::cool:

Harry, Mark and Ryan, have show some gorgeous #73's with Stag covers, I just had to add/update some pictures of mine...what beautiful knives:thumbup:
...
They certainly are beautiful knives, Paul; thanks for posting more great photos of your superb stag 73.:thumbup: You, Harry, Mark, and Ryan are doing quite a sales job! I've been looking for something special as a 30th wedding anniversary knife, and had decided that I should get my first stag knife of some kind; I was looking at stag canoes, or maybe a stag Powderhorn. But seeing the incredible stag you guys have on your 73s has me leaning far in that direction! :D

...I like that swayback jack, one of the only cases I've considered getting. I know it's a touch smaller than my viper though ;)
Thanks, Tim! :) The swayback jack is fantastic (but it IS fairly small)! I think I have only 3 Cases: the swayback jack, a chestnut bone Sodbuster Jr whose covers match the swayback very well, and a stainless brown jigged Delrin peanut. I like them all VERY much!

It's the GEC tidioute #12 Toothpick from 2009. 4" closed. Smooth white bone, Muskrat Clip in 1095
That's a beauty, Lemmy!:thumbup: You have a lot of nice toothpicks, if I recall correctly.

Ebony again these past two days. Short and squat yesterday, but long and lean with a late lunch today. I hope all of you enjoy the rest of the week. :)
...
Stephen, those knives are shaped QUITE differently, but both are extremely pleasing ebony pen knives!:thumbup:

...The Charlow and I are braving the humidity today.
...
That sheepsfoot Barlow is sure easy on the eyes, Brett!:cool:

This is cool! I can end up where I started with Pete's couple of "cult classics". ;)

I didn't actually CARRY this knife today, but it's been on the kitchen counter doing food prep morning and evening all week. It's a cheap Laguiole from Spain; I think it's Chinese, but the Spanish knife shop owner kept saying "Albacete, Albacete!" (that's the name of a famous knife-making center in Spain) when I asked about importing from China. But the knife is actually very well-made, and has buttery-smooth action; if I worked on the blade a little, it would be a VERY nice user.

I carried my new Victorinox Electrician most of the day, then switched to my Case Sodbuster Jr. for the evening. (The soddie makes a much smoother carry in shorts.)

This one again today, I've forgotten how nicely these sharpen up!

Excellent picture. I wanted a nice old Woolrich jacket. Looked for a while and finally found a mint one from the mid-late 50's based on the tag design. Warmest jacket I own!

Thanks. This jacket is a Filson canvas jacket with wool lining, made in Seattle. Like old knives, they can be found in excellent condition in vintage clothing stores in the Northwest.

The great thing about Filson jackets is the multitude of pockets. Knives get lost in them, only to be rediscovered the next winter!
