What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Beautiful David! I think Jim is one of the most under appreciated slipjoint makers right now. He makes one heck of a knife at a great price.

This is my first knife from Jim, but from even just this one, I totally agree - everything is just spot on.

An exceptional piece, David!! Why carry anything else:D

Thanks Gev! This knife is definitely pushing a transition to single blade slip-joints...Times are a'changin' :)

Woah there Jack. That is something I've never seen come out of a TA DAVISON. What pattern would that be classified as? I love the swedged wharnsheepscliffe with the long pull (I don't see Todd do those often either). b e a u t i f u l :D

Still carrying my brass mercator. You know that feeling, when you find something super simple that just works for you and that kicks out all the more "fancier" knives from your pocket? :)

The K55 is one of my favorites. It's knives like the K55, the Douk-Douks, the Opinels, the Sodbusters, Etc that make it difficult for me to get too excited about expensive single blade knives unless the particular pattern has an interesting history or it's a well made custom. I have very few expensive single blade knives but a lot of inexpensive ones.

Exactly. I have what I would call expensive knives, but it's not reason to love simple affordable knives.

A.L that brass Mercator is really nice. I'm going to have to look if them do a smaller non-locking variant in brass.
This is in my pocket while having a lazy summer afternoon reading in the garden.

A true arrowhead shield, I like that Don!

Taking a drive for a going away/graduation party for my cousin who was accepted into West Point! Too bad it's gonna pour all day, I really wanted to fish!!

Felt like something old today:

Stunning!

A pretty lunch and a nice little knife to boot - that lunch looks awfully skimpy. ;):D

Well, in the interest of full disclosure, I had already eaten half of it before I got the idea to take a photo. ;) :)

Attractive and interesting Languiole.

This one again today, I've forgotten how nicely these sharpen up!

Fantastic photo of an equally fantastic knife.

David - I can see why you'd want to carry the Dunlap again. Great looking knife.

flatblackcapo - I love the Back in Black/Cadet photo.

BrotherJim - I really like the IRJ pattern, and yours is a great looking one.

Jack - I hope you have a good weekend too my friend. :)

Don - that's a good looking Lloyd.

Nice choice today Don.
Lloyd is in the pocket today.

Nice picture and knife today!

Good question, this sure is a sweet little knife.
Why aren't they making more of these. I'd buy at least two spear and two clip.

Haha A.L happy to see some photos and I know the feeling all too well. Whether or not I'm carry a custom or a higher end an opinel ends up finding it's way into my hands one way or another. Haven't tried a mercator yet though. Gonna have to check them out~

Hm a Davison Jake eh..Can't wait to see what's in store.

Thank you 5K Qs...I'll do more photos soon. I do the MoP Chamblin zero justice.

And...the Dunlap again :)

What's not to like on that!?!! Looks tough, smooth, elegant, and comfortable all at the same time.

Hope everyone has a good weekend

I really like the alternate blade. Great buy!

Lloyd is in the pocket today.

Oh man. That one is a barn burner. Love it! The Arrowhead is too cool. I need one!

I think I'll hit up a few antique malls and junk shops today, and like attracts like, so I'll carry this beat up Barlow. There's no snap to the main blade, but it stays put and is good enough for light use.
