That's perfect stag for a worry stone.

P.S. - I think Ryan won the patina contest. Send yer knife to him.![]()
Thanks Jack, it is a Jewell Trigger. After posting it I realized it may not have looked good in the foreground but I love all things mechanical. Watches, cameras, optics, etc. Arnold Jewell had a little shop in San Marcos Texas and got the idea for his trigger by watching how the landing gear of airplanes worked. http://singleactions.proboards.com/thread/11487/building-benchrest-rifle?page=9Nice Dave, what's that you have in the pic (besides the Eric's Jack!)?![]()
Thanks GT, I have been admiring all of your new additions also.As others have pointed out (in a much more timely fashion), that's a FINE Eric's Jack you have there, Dave!:thumbup:

It is so funny that earlier today I took a picture of my 73 and when I had a chance to log in to the Traditional forum I found so many others here with the same idea of carrying theirs. So many beautiful stag knives today.

Dave, I can't fault your picking Mark for having the best patina as it goes so well with the Stag...now Ryan and I being on polar opposite ends of this great nation have taken a slightly different approach than say our brother Mark. Earned comes to mind...Ryan, back me up here brother
Now Mark your older brother Paul (by ONLY one year) & our younger sibling Ryan are not callin you out one bit on your patina achievement...we'd NEVER do that
Dave my friend, your Stag #73 is a stunner my friend, beautiful knife and picture. Now the decision will have to be made on how to achieve a "real" patina or another route
Disclaimer: the above statement was made in jest and DIRECTLY towards my brother from another mother Mark![]()

Nice photo of the red and black Paul.:thumbup:
With all do respect my Brother Paul, that is earned patina. I use the knife for lunch, cooking and eating dinner.
I guess we will have to settle this the old fashioned way....... Arm Wrestling! You guys can send me your knives now or after you lose that contest too.
Your choice![]()
Thanks Paul
You guys are too competitive for me haha. I didn't know how serious this was:foot:(If I look real hard through a magnifying glass I can see the start a a patina going on mine
) All things considered (thanks Paul) it really is hard for me to pick a winner
. I am glad Gevonovich is the judge.

Brett, I meant to tell you what a great looking 73 and photo you have there but my laptop keeps freezing and I lost my original post after the hard reboot![]()
Been carrying the Cold Steel KUDU today. It's one of my favorite pocket knives to carry around outside the house, especially at night and out with the dogs. The KUDU's size fits my comfort level in the darkness and it's light so it carries really easy.
BUT ... I've had this Marble's Mini Trapper in my hands off and on ALL.DAY.LONG. It came with terrible bevels and I've been reprofiling the edge with an Extra Coarse Diamond hone, on the Lansky. DANG D2 !!! I have a ways to go yet with the Extra Coarse and the rest SHOULD go pretty quickly. I MAY never buy another D2 steel knife. D2 is no joke. Not the better steel out there but dang it's tough. Maybe time to think about a new sharpening system I guess. This Lansky set has been with me since the late 1970s.
