oldmanrunning...That is a very fine pair you are carrying today. I had to look up the common name for the #57 as it doesn't get shown too often. That the halfwhit, as I think it only has two blades? It has that used comfortable look to it.
on the texas jack that you coffee'd...it does look more aged. Try a mineral oil rubbing on it, it would be interesting to see how it would look then.
Hi Steve, yes indeed the #57 is a Halfwhitt and although i have only had it for a week it has become my go to "Big Knife" , i generally prefer peanut sized knives for EDC but the #57 fits right in, BTW i was surprised by how quickly a patina forms if you use it to cut your steak with, that patina was after one steak and three pork sausages. I tried your suggestion to rub mineral oil on the TJ and the "nut" , i found an old can of Castrol Grand Prix in my work shed i figure it to be about fifty years old, so not much use in the bike LOL , i rubbed some onto the covers and left them for a while, washed them off with soapy water, see what you think.
