oldmanrunning...That is a very fine pair you are carrying today. I had to look up the common name for the #57 as it doesn't get shown too often. That the halfwhit, as I think it only has two blades? It has that used comfortable look to it.

on the texas jack that you coffee'd...it does look more aged. Try a mineral oil rubbing on it, it would be interesting to see how it would look then.

Hi Steve, yes indeed the #57 is a Halfwhitt and although i have only had it for a week it has become my go to "Big Knife" , i generally prefer peanut sized knives for EDC but the #57 fits right in, BTW i was surprised by how quickly a patina forms if you use it to cut your steak with, that patina was after one steak and three pork sausages. I tried your suggestion to rub mineral oil on the TJ and the "nut" , i found an old can of Castrol Grand Prix in my work shed i figure it to be about fifty years old, so not much use in the bike LOL , i rubbed some onto the covers and left them for a while, washed them off with soapy water, see what you think.

These are some old pictures of my 73 in Stag but I have carried it every day since I received it. I hope they enable some of you guys who are thinking about it.
Consider me enabled. I think I'm going to try the soon to be little brother though, the 83. I think those will look equally great with stag or ebony

I just got this Seahorse Whittler as a groomsman gift the other day. I've been wanting one for a while, and its exceeded my expectations so far.
Caramel bone with as-ground blades. Perfect edc.
