What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Brett, it's 4.19" closed, and you're certainly welcome. I've always thought the Northfield #72, with its triple threaded bolster and long pull clip blade is one of the very best looking GECs, and one with custom amboyna burl covers, or ironwood or koa would be spectacular.

Jeff, I would sell a few if need be to pay for a Clip NF 72 match strike long pull, triple threaded bolsters, and with amboyna! I'd like a bar shield on it please when you decide to do this SFO. :D

This has been a crazy busy week at work (and at home, for that matter), so I haven't been keeping up with this thread! I wanted to at least stop in on Saturday night and post pics of some of the knives I've been carrying this past week.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend (we've got a 3-dayer here) :) Got these two in my pockets today :)

As always many beautiful knives posted yesterday and last night.

Thank you Gevonovich, Kitten Party, eschwebach, Railsplitter and Jack Black for the kind comments on the Indian River Jack.

I thought you might like to see both sides of the knife.

I'll add my voice to the chorus of admiration for that mammoth IRJ!!:thumbup:
(FWIW, I really like the grain in the background for your photos, too.)

I used my new 83 to cut apples for breakfast, hence the patina.
Later I'll carry it to my daughters' children's circus show ...

Carried this SAK for many years / many miles on active duty and into retirement. Scissors got the most use, keeping moustache within regulation, spring is broken but they still function. One of my least expensive but most treasured.

Thanks to all for sharing their knives and memories.

These two are with me today, lockback whittler from Joel Chamblin and a bird and trout by James Behring Jr., sheath by Claude Scott with beaver tail inlay

Thanks, Rick! :) It's always encouraging when someone actually recognizes what I'm trying to do with a whittling project. :p
That one started out as just a large chunk of ground cover/mulch under the bushes near a bus stop I use, and it was all black from being under the snow and ice all winter. So at first I was just mindlessly shaving off the outer layer and thinking maybe I'd try a rocket ship. But on the day that "inspiration" hit, I was finishing the clean-up with a congress knife and noticed the curvature of my wood chunk and decided to try to whittle a simple little congress pattern knife.

Maybe I should make that a recurring theme. There are lots of knife patterns that I like and are quite distinctive that could serve as "models" for my projects. And whittling a knife is kinda cool because you can start out quite basic and gradually put in all kinds of details as time goes by.

I love every knife and every pic posted so far today! Special mention to Ken's mammoth beauty and John's Vic with the USAF emblem, very cool. I spent some time in the USAF. See Mark ;), I didn't even mention that super Behring that Kris posted or that awesome Lemon cutter of Paul's or Jack's amazing Davison! :D Apologies to any I left out, they are all great!:thumbup::thumbup:

For me today. Along with a few others I won't mention.
