What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Although GEC finish their wood nicely here's what Ebony can look like with a little elbow grease:)

Sam

Looks fantastic! Did you use any special wax or furniture polish??

It's going to be a tough day today, lot of stress & demands, I need a tough little companion such as this.
Elbow-grease won't touch this delrin though:D

Thanks! I have been on a Boker roll. A fellow from work sold me a half dozen Boker USAs in various states of disrepair, and I've been working on them as I have time.

The handles are Delrin or some similar plastic. It's kind of ugly in person, and I'm thinking of rounding off the edges, which will fade out some of the "jigging", and might make the secondary blades easier to open, and I'm either going to dig up a replacement Tree shield, or find something else round to glue in there.

Cool tapered backsprings:

Really great work on those Bokers Rachel. One of my favourite things to do is just that. Find a used or well loved knife and make it workable or 'like new' again.
Helps with actually using the blade too ;)

This shall be with me again today
A 55 I recently got that is enjoying the Cape Cod Climate.

I've been giving the stockmans a rest with this one.

It's such hot, humid weather, though, I need something that won't rust. Time to try out this last-year's estate sale purchase.

r8shell: Those tapered springs are real "neat" looking and don't see them too often. Any one know if it's been done by other makers? I know it's been done , but maybe the butt end of a gun or rifle cartridge would work as the shield.

Tim: so glad you are carrying that #55 with a wharncliff...don't see the 55 show up too often. cocobola? real nice graining. I would really like GEC to do another run...last one was 2013, add a long pull clip , canvas micarta.

Tough taking good pics in the middle of the day.

5K Qs, that is a GEC 15.
Thanks, OkieWaldo. :) I'm embarrassed that I didn't recognize it! :(:o Maybe the lighting and the angle made me think it was a MUCH older knife than a 15 ? Anyway, definitely looks like a very classic traditional!

Thanks for the additional info, Rachel. :) I actually think the handles are quite attractive.:p They have that black on reddish/orangeish color characteristic of some old examples of stag I've seen pictured here occasionally; that reddish stag really looks good to me.

... I really like my Beer Scout! So much to like: the Sheepsfoot blade ,the swedge, the long-pull,half-stop and easy opening option. So nice!!
Agree 100%, aj23!:thumbup: That knife is a real looker!

Another dynamic duo, Jack; especially like that Old-Timer!:thumbup:

That looks MASSIVE!!!;)

Got the Schrade again today...

Jake, if I had that Schrade, I'm afraid I'd carry it EVERY day!! Superb!

Goose Blind??

Beer Scout today.

Tom, I'm so used to seeing your marvelous variety of fixed/folder pairs, that this BS threw me for a loop!:D:D Nice knife.:thumbup:

Here are more of my knives for this week: Rough Rider stag canoe, Holub electrician on which someone modified the screwdriver, and a Joker in asta de toro from my daughter.

I was hoping to trade out for my new 83 at lunch, but apparently it got left at the sorting center in Ohio. :(

Guess I'll stick with this old gal
