What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Frank, the Boker you displayed reminds me of the Schrade 93 OT (Wrangler). Have you had experience with both knives and, if so, could you offer a comparison? Thanks.

Just gorgeous, Ron! A chestnut bone sowbelly is right near the top of my "must have" list to complement Sodbuster Jr and swayback jack in chestnut bone CV that I currently have. ;)

Thank you GT! The Chestnut Bone CV lineup is some of Case's best offerings, IMO :D

I don't have both, but...
  • The Boker is 3 7/8", has a standard clip, has 440C blades, and has a premium build quality. Boker only made 500 of them. Mine is #328.
    and
  • The US 93 OT is 3 1/2", has a Turkish clip, has 1095 blades, and is standard US Schrade build, which, in my experience, is good, but lower than premium.

Thanks Jack !!!

I'm blown away with the fit and finish on this one. It's as good or better than any GEC/Northfield/Tidioute I've handled. There is NO blade play what so ever opened or closed. All seams and transitions are spot on. I read one report of blade rapping on the back spring (non-lock back, different handle configuration) but I don't have that issue. This is a well made, substantially constructed 4 1/2" lock back folder. No half stop, very smooth walk and talk with "bank vault" lock up. Only 25 made at the time (2012) in this configuration.

I wanted a Ben Hogan lock back and searched EVERY authorized GEC dealer and this lock back made 01OCT12 was the ONLY Ben Hogan lock back listed on any dealer site. I figured being 3 years old, it must have been a return or something wrong with it ... BOY was I wrong !!! ... MAYBE ... it sat because no one wanted a #13 serial number, dunno. I think that just adds to it LOL.

I'm VERY pleased with this knife to say the least. Thank you GEC and thank you [Non-BF knife dealer] !!! ... Nice

Congratulations Jim, it's a beauty

Congratulations on that stunning scratted bone Ancient Barlow, Jack; fabulous gift!

Thanks my friend

Hope you're all having a great US Labour Weekend :)

Lemmy, Tim & GT Appreciate your liking for the Osage:thumbup: More proof that tough can be beautiful, it's very hard stuff.

Jack Scratting Good:cool:

Thanks, Will

The bottom one is actually the same as Frank's (no. 414). It just looks shorter and patinaed in my brilliant photograph. Though the wood really is darker than Frank's. I just rustoleumed the inside of the backsprings, and feel better about carrying it in this heat. The Bruckman has been oiled up and put away. I'm surprised how much I'm liking the SwissBuck. And I'm missing my peace peanut. Better find my cargo shorts.

Brother Paul - Thank you my friend!
I sent Paul a fixed blade that I made a while back and when I got home (late) last night there was a priority box from him waiting for me. I tore it open like a mad man! Inside was a brand new 73 in Appaloosa Horsecut Bone....... a beauty! Also included was a 1 1/4 oz of .9999 pure silver Canadian $8.00 Buffalo coin :D
You are too much my friend! Thank you Paul!

It is in my pocket for today and all weekend, at least.

Beautiful knife Chief

Thanks, it's a really nice little knife with useful blades.

Pulling alerts at Titan II missile silos, we were required to carry and maintain our own copy of a 700+ page technical manual, 21M-LGM-25C-1 Operations Manual. Was issued a heavy leather satchel grip to carry it in that I still use for important papers. Going through it the other day and found the small lockback I carried while pulling alerts. The stamp is a Smith and Wesson logo, so it must be good! ;) Held at certain angles you can tell I tweaked the end of it a bit using it to pry. Not very valuable money wise but brings back memories of my glory days and means the world to me.
