What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Cheers to you all amigos, from ADEE, Jack Black and I.

It looks as if you Three Amigos have all the basic food groups covered there! :p:p

trying oatmeal for the first time,

Very cool photo, Kris!:thumbup: (I look somewhat like your daughter each morning after I've had my oatmeal!;))

The Rough Riders reached home today. Amazing knives for a ridiculous price! I got the bug.
Will try them this week (but I'll keep my ancient and the BS always near my hand)

RR1.jpg
Congrats, Jolipapa; I'm a big fan of Rough Riders.:cool: I have a "work knife" like the bottom one (but in amber jigged bone). The top knife must be QUITE large! Do you know its closed length?

It was indeed, so I decided to put mine in my pocket today.

Wow, what wonderful wood, Bob!:cool:

GEC #73 in 440C was with me today..

Nice, Andi; we don't see stainless GECs very often here.:cool: What's the handle material?

and these two:

That's a classic trio right there, John; triple threat! :D:thumbup:

I think the description when I bought it said dark red jigged bone. It's actually not as purple-looking as in that last photo, but more of a red wine color.
...
Thanks for the additional color description, Jeff. When I see the "artist's rendition" of RR red jigged bone at vendors' sites, it always seems too bright red (or pinkish faded red) for my taste, but yours is very dark, rich red!:cool:

As always, great knives today!!

Carried this one.

Splendid knife, Ken, but what's behind it? Is that a steel with an astounding stag handle??!!??:confused::thumbup::D

A congress with 4 different blade shapes is always very appealing!:cool:

OK, so I was totin' this one all day (along with my Spyderco Sage 1)

Until this one I got today in the mail from BigBiscuit (Bob) which effectively kicked the first two out of my pocket for the remainder of the day. Thanks Bob!!!!!

Congrats! Those are a couple of serious looking knives!:thumbup:

Nice knives and pictures everyone:thumbup:

This Stag #73L from 2008 came today. I don't dis-like the liner lock but prefer it without but this was to durn purdy to pass up:D

Congrats, Paul; that is "durn purty" stag on that older 73! Quite a different style of stag than on your 73 that you showed last night, but both are superb!:thumbup:

More of my knives for this week:
An old Imperial 2-blade toothpick (like my grandpa used to carry)

a cattle knife from a "mystery maker"

a Buck stag canoe (I've developed a real "thang" for canoes in my old age, it seems)

Fantastic old knife Gevo !:)

Carried the Highland Special and Dowell trapper. The Dowell is acid etched A2 and carries an extreme edge.

Fine pair Jake !!! :thumbup::thumbup::)

Fine looking Barlow there !:)

Now that picture is finally showing up for me!! Just a fine piece of Candy!!!

Thank you, my friend. And I missed Gary's trio ( so many pictures today....wow), so thanks for bringing it up. Just outa-sight, Gary:thumbup::thumbup::D

You're the one responsible for that! And also the fact that I wanted to see what gives micarta on knives (they don't use it here) as I am very interested by some micarta 53/54 GECs.
Hers are the specs:
Model RR360 Rough Rider Linerlock work knife with black micarta handles. 440 Stainless drop point blade.
Overall Length: 8 1/4"
Length Closed: 4 5/8"
Blade Length: 3 5/8"
Handle: Black Micarta
It is very impressive and I'll test it but still wonder what may I do with such a large one.
On the way are Amber Jigged RR819 and Moon Glow in the Dark Linerlock RR1427.
I caught your bug! :thumbup::D

Been trying to post in this thread for the past hour :(

(Was hoping I could edit in my post after I posted the above).

Thanks for the holiday well-wishes, Jack! :) Classic Rodgers you're carrying today. Do you intend to use the hammer on the watch or on the knife??:eek::confused:
.....
Congrats again on your fine Ancient Barlow, Jack; hope you have a great birthday celebration! :D:p

Thanks my friend, I don't have my grandfather's pocket-knife, but the old Rodgers is pretty close. Thought I'd take a pic of it with his watch and union badge. He was a wire-weaver, and 'Number 6 Hammer' at Tinsley Wire where he worked

I'm a bit broken today...as is my wallet! :o :D

I spent a couple of hours clearing chaparral this afternoon. The work calls for thick gloves, making a pocket knife hard to use. So I carried this small fixed blade which Vince (VCM3) gifted me last year.

Very nice knife Frank, and a typically generous gesture from Vince

Glad to see that one on you so consistently on you Jack, the scratted is my favourite of all the handle covers

Thanks Tim, nice to break a new knife in a little :)

Cheers to you all amigos, from ADEE, Jack Black and I.

Looks like a good time guys! Raise one for me!

Great knives, Kris! It sure looks like Paige is enjoying that oatmeal!

With me today.

Absolutely Gary  I'm with you on Kris's pics, and that is a great line-up you're carrying today

Absolutely lovely Gev

Just got back from camping for three days. No cell service was nice. Cold beer, fires, the hikes and my girlfriend were much more important than my phone. Carried the Highland Special and Dowell trapper. The Dowell is acid etched A2 and carries an extreme edge.

Sounds like a great trip Jake, and those are two great-looking knives

Very nice Ken, and I love the look of that steel

It looks as if you Three Amigos have all the basic food groups covered there! :p:p

LOL! :D In retrospect, I think we may have covered some more than others! :D

Carrying my Ancient again today

Great pictures all.

The steel is an Alfred Field & Co. I picked it up at an antique store along with a Beau Brummel leather strop when I was out hunting for knives.

It seems like some of this nicest stag I've seen is on the old carving sets. Hmm, I might have to start a collection of old steels.

Jeff
A fine looking Queen stockman for today

Jack
