Very nice, Gev! What a great blade!
Thanks for the advice, Bob; I got some mineral oil onto the 85 as soon as I discovered it in the bottom of the washing machine. And I'm fairly optimistic about the pouch, too. It's one I made from a piece of the webbing of an old ball glove, so it has been through a lot of extreme conditions in its "sporting life" and also received regular waterproofing treatments as part of my glove, so I'm hoping it will continue to perform well for me.Thanks Gary. Your knife will be fine with a little oil. Probably can't say the same for the leather pouch.![]()

Nice Old Timer, Ben![/IMG]![]()
My Grandfather's knife came on a hike with me today. He taught me a lot about the woods and that is what got me started in the outdoors. I am lucky enough to still have him with me.
4300", 58*, rain, wind, and a constant bank of fog for 7 miles. Perfect weather if you ask me!
Very cool, Dean, but I'm starting to get a little suspicious! If I get time, I think I'll try to track down all those cool odometer pics to see if there are any shenanigans involved!!

I do. And yes, its a Pioneer. Its holding up great. It still goes in the rotation.Nice Old Timer, Ben! Do you still have your Alox SAK (was it a Pioneer?)?
No shenanigans, GT, I swear!I put about 1,000 miles a month on my car and just start carrying the next one to come up a couple hundred miles before the odometer matches. The fourth (and last) one will be a TC spey (probably New Day) on a trip coming up.
