What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

I'm sure I'm not the only one sporting a brand new #77 Barlow today. Before I went home for lunch it was the #15 on the bottom...poor thing didn't stand a chance of staying in the pocket after I got those other two. Really liking both of them and the micarta is whats with me now.

Beautiful dogleg Ron, one should be here today for me as well..wharnie variety :D

This has been in my pocket all weekend, loving it as a worker. The joy in knives is in using them~

This one for the past several days. I am utterly content with this one; I think it's the simplicity of the design. There's nothing there that doesn't need to be.

Same picture, but black and white.
I think black and white looks way better. :D
I really like this knife, but I really don't want to mess it up.
But I want to use it and see a patina.
It's a 1981, which means I can't just go out and buy another.
What do you guys think?
Use it, or safe-queen it?

Hopefully by the end of the week I'll be carrying one of my first two GECs (have a scratted parchment bone Ancient TC Barlow and a tortoise shell Beer Scout on the way), but today I'm carrying this AG Russell Medium Barlow Lockback given to me by… well, let's say my mom's husband. (Personally, I don't think you should have to call a guy your stepdad if you were 29 when he married your mom.)

I wasn't too sure about this knife at first. I have nothing but good things to say about AG Russell as a company; I actually grew up in Rogers, Arkansas and used to go down to their store all the time. I've bought plenty of knives from them (including the first "real" knife I bought myself, a Benchmade 940), had some sharpening and repairs done there, and experienced nothing but stellar customer service from them. Still, when my not-gonna-call-him-my-stepdad gave this knife to me, I wasn't immediately sold. I knew it was made in China, I knew the price point was fairly low, and while I'd seen them in the store, I'd never really looked at or even considered looking at AG's house-brand knives.

I have to say, though, this is a solid little knife. Fit and finish are great, sharpens up easily and razor sharp, too. Kind of thinking about buying myself another in the yellow Delrin.

Beautiful knife. I'd say carry it and use it. Of course, my answer to that question is always going to be carry it and use it, regardless of the knife in question. Gives 'em character. Plus, what are they for if not to be used? Just my humble opinion. :)

Great stuff Tim!
Glad you found your micarta #71 you've been seeking. Keep on enjoying it.

On my way back home after a great weekend.

That K'roo is a beauty, dispatch184! The more K'roo knives I see, the more I like them.
