Thanks, Jack. It has turned into my favorite kitchen cutter.Cool knife and pic my friend
Same picture, but black and white.
I think black and white looks way better.
I really like this knife, but I really don't want to mess it up.
But I want to use it and see a patina.
It's a 1981, which means I can't just go out and buy another.
What do you guys think?
Use it, or safe-queen it?

Hopefully by the end of the week I'll be carrying one of my first two GECs (have a scratted parchment bone Ancient TC Barlow and a tortoise shell Beer Scout on the way), but today I'm carrying this AG Russell Medium Barlow Lockback given to me by well, let's say my mom's husband. (Personally, I don't think you should have to call a guy your stepdad if you were 29 when he married your mom.)
I wasn't too sure about this knife at first. I have nothing but good things to say about AG Russell as a company; I actually grew up in Rogers, Arkansas and used to go down to their store all the time. I've bought plenty of knives from them (including the first "real" knife I bought myself, a Benchmade 940), had some sharpening and repairs done there, and experienced nothing but stellar customer service from them. Still, when my not-gonna-call-him-my-stepdad gave this knife to me, I wasn't immediately sold. I knew it was made in China, I knew the price point was fairly low, and while I'd seen them in the store, I'd never really looked at or even considered looking at AG's house-brand knives.
I have to say, though, this is a solid little knife. Fit and finish are great, sharpens up easily and razor sharp, too. Kind of thinking about buying myself another in the yellow Delrin.
