What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

I always wanted to try some desert iron wood but it always was out of my reach at least on what I like. This stuff is now my next favorite wood to cocobolo!...

May sound crazy but on this model smells good to!

What. How. Noo! That's why I leave a backup SAK on my motorcycle pack always or just leave the opinel in my pants for the night. D: D:

Thank you Erik, using my old work camera more since it definitely helps.

the back up for me is this very cheap sinister looking foreign made slipjoint called the columbia fufujie a104 which took forever to hunt down on the web. it in my messenger back, but i do wish i had my trapper in my scrubs pocket!

Nah, I think it's ok...
:D:D If you say so, Sean. (But I recommend a visit with your ophthalmologist.)

Thanks Gary!! I was only two cups of coffee into the day....needed knives that I could see easily. :D
:D:D Those two should have done the job. (Maybe you need stronger coffee, or a visit with your ophthalmologist.)

...
Oh. Just in case... Here's the accused "lamb" from before ... :p
...
Thanks for the photo of your dog, Dan. I'd seen the lamb discussion, and although it was clear that the "object" in the picture was not a lamb, I was still unsure about what exactly it was. :o

...Many thanks GT, insomnia dragged me from my bed even earlier than my early alarm!
...
That sounds less than ideal, Jack. :( To paraphrase an old saying, insomnia makes a strange bedfellow.

...Gave this one brushed bolsters.
...
Zulu S&M looks fantastic, Tim!:cool:

Case Canoe rehandled by Glennbad and a Tidioute Esquire.
...
I've developed sort of a canoe obsession, and that one isn't helping me get over it, Woodrow!

I showed in on July 27 2013 and Sept 5 2013 ( with the penny you sent me Jack ) and in March 27 of 2014 with an old meat hook in the pic. Here it is open in that July shot:
...
It is so big I don't tend to carry it that often ( 5" closed ) The pen blade is a bear trap:eek:
I certainly remember that stunning toothpick, Gev!:thumbup: And not from any of the showings you mention, which all predate my BF membership. You showed it again on June 4 of this year, and mentioned that you've named it Rooster Cogburn! :p

Had a Peanut in my pocket today.
...Just for a little humor ......
...
Gary, the damascus peanut and the FAK are each remarkable, in quite different ways!:D

Carrying my Canoe today.
...
Another Case canoe, la la ooo! VERY nice, btb!!:cool:

Morning folks, carrying my scratted Ancient and my Sitflyer Chef's Special today
...
Splendid knives, Jack; what a diverse duo!!:eek::cool:

That Primble with its translucent covers is very striking, Mark!!

Last year´s Forum Knife was with me today...
Great choice, Andi!! :cool::cool:

Another crack o'dawn start for me, so I can head down to my local flea-market and hopefully scoop up some pointy bargains ;) Taking these two with me ...
Certainly looks like you're carrying a pair of bargain hunters, Jack! :p Good luck!

Nice photo, Jim! Pocket dump?? ;)

Beautiful pictures, Erik.
+ 5K!! Gotta agree with Erik, Erik, those are fabulous fall fotos!!

Today I had this yellow Case pen knife with me. Drinking beer at the office after work is one of the advantages of being the last to leave every day. (Having a boss with an open-door policy on his mini fridge helps, too).
...
Beer AT work (even afterward) doesn't have much appeal to me, but that yellow Case pen knife is incredibly appealing!! Great pic, btb!

Thanks Rob, been working several weeks straight and we just set our schedule to take Wednesdays off:o

My prairie walk with my dogs clears my head and is a nice break from the chaos of work, Would love to have gone fishing with you, sounds like a blast:thumbup:
Hope you can enjoy a more sane schedule going forward, Paul!

I usually pick out my day's carry according to what I'll be doing that day: Will I need a big blade for food prep, or little blades for detail work, a hard worker, or something classy, etc. I'm not saying it's my very favorite knife, but when I'm in a hurry, I can't go wrong grabbing this whittler. So at the risk of being boring, #38 Whittler, again...
That 38 whittler is a VERY handsome knife, Rachel!

...
Same Fruitport today, got some early morn light to show the ivory grain.
...
Your new scagel looks awesome, Tim!!

Couple of knives I'm using in the kitchen this week:
a horn Joker (a little short for food prep, but still effective)

and a Colt buckshot bone teardrop

Beautiful pics Erik, absolutely amazing view

Thanks Jack.

I really like mammoth. The deck of cards I picked up last weekend. It was available all summer at a antique market and I finally decided to buy it.
So many interesting lures, lots of picture material.

It's great Ken  I haven't fished for years, but I still can't pass a tackle shop without looking in the window for 5 minutes or more! :D

Thanks Jack!

Those two will be good company, Jack. Happy hunting!

Thanks Gary

That sounds less than ideal, Jack. :( To paraphrase an old saying, insomnia makes a strange bedfellow.

:D It's certainly making for some long days my friend!:yawn::grumpy:;)

Thanks very much GT

Nice knives today guys!
It seemed like a Collaboration kind of day to me. Case-Bose 2005 Lockback Whittler.

GT
Your memory is like a steel trap!:D

Great looking Colt you have there! The Joker is a looker as well! It may be a Canoe day for me;)

Gary
Sweetness to the nth degree!!

GT - that Colt bird shot pattern is super cool.

Here's a treat from Evan that I don't give enough air time too...I absolutely love this one; cross-cut Westinghouse Micarta and some frankenstein'd GEC knives :) It is super svelte and the blades are wicked slicers.

Thats a great looking, useful knife

Going with the Forest jack again today

Yep, can't go wrong there!

Just beautiful scenery Erik, Thanks.

The pictures are from the the North Shore of Lake Superior in MN. It's a 3-5 hour drive from where I live depending on where along the shore we go. This time of year it is heaven on earth.

Thank you all for the kinds words! I hope you don't mind me sharing a couple more pics of the copperhead and the scenery. :p

I would FIGHT that bear for that knife!
The Memphis Pyramid was bought out by a large box store fish store. It took a while to get Yogi here to pose but finally did for a picnic basket. ;)

Inside they now have the countries highest free standing elevator to a look out at the the top. They allow St Jude families up for free. Pretty cool.

Ooooh!:D
I'm taking my newly received Case/Bose Cattle knife for her maiden voyage today.

Always like seeing an 85.

Mark, that bear is commanded to guard till death. You may have you hands full even though he only knows that one move. :D He also has a seal friend that has his back though. :D

That micarta and big brass pivot go perfect together.

A big all time favourite of mine, The Queen No.6 Teardrop liner lock with D2 in WCSB. Also very lucky to have others in ACSB, Zebra and Bird's Eye Maple.

Obviously, the Tom's Choice is choice,:D but those playing-cards with angling paraphernalia are really interesting too Ken K.

Still buzzin' around with the Hornet. I used the scalpel sharp sheepfoot to skive some leather for a shoe repair project. Worked great!
