Two lookers for Friday, Mark! The hammer is wondrous!!

Great stuff Duane, congratulations

Today, for 'Old Friends Friday', I'm carrying one of my all-time favourites, this Needham NAAFI Knife :)

The Needham looks to be one stout knife!! Beautiful example:thumbup:

SAK
Beautiful stag on that beast. I feel under knifed;)

Ken
Great picture of the wonderful old cards and that mammoth beauty!!

Everyone has posted such handsome knives today, thank you! Mine is a bit more function over form today.

For Old Friend Friday...it may not be the original "Cap Lifter" but I tell you this little thing is handy.

At the risk of summoning a "15'ers torch and pitchfork mob", I must admit this little thing gets carried way more frequently than my Beer Scouts. It disappears in a coin pocket.

I´ll go out with my wife to a noble italian restaurant soon. My son has been brought to his grandma.
I´m hoping for a good evening ... almost looking forward on the grilled octopus. :D

SBG in damascus steel will be with me

Addylo, our knives decided to pose the same today. :D That box elder looks great!

Erik - amazed how similar our taste in knives is. I have a similar knife coming (mine is sheepsfoot) and looks like you also went ahead and picked one of the darker ones.

today I have this in my pocket.

Your memory is like a steel trap!:D

Great looking Colt you have there! The Joker is a looker as well! It may be a Canoe day for me;)
...
Thanks, Gev. :) "Steel trap" is probably a good analogy, but in the case of my memory, it's almost rusted shut! :( Fortunately, "Frank Buster toothpick" is an uncommon phrase, and it was easy to find the photo I remembered in the search results.

GT - that Colt bird shot pattern is super cool.

Here's a treat from Evan that I don't give enough air time too...I absolutely love this one; cross-cut Westinghouse Micarta and some frankenstein'd GEC knives :) It is super svelte and the blades are wicked slicers.

Thanks, J_Curd; I have three Colt knives, and they're all well-built and good looking (IMHO, of course). :)
Your Esnyx sure looks like "svelte" and "slicer" are apt descriptions!:cool:

Still buzzin' around with the Hornet. I used the scalpel sharp sheepfoot to skive some leather for a shoe repair project. Worked great!

...
Jeff, that Hornet is splendid! How old is it? That isn't the same Simmons Hardware of St. Louis that marketed Keen Kutters, is it??

Thanks, GT. I've been bonding with it this week.
...
Sometimes I get behind reading this thread, and have to sort of scroll through quickly, but whenever I see that horn handle, I have to stop for a bit. Now that's handsome!
Much appreciated, Rachel. :) I'm developing a serious affinity for horn handles, and although I don't think of myself as a single-blade folder guy, I've certainly come to appreciate the single-bladed knives I picked up in Spain.

...
Mark, that 83 is first-rate!:thumbup: Did it come to you with the fantastic buttterscotchy color on the stag next to the bolster, or is it darkening as you carry it?

Gus, in your case, TC must stand for Terrific Collection; it seems like you post a different magnificent Charlow at least once a day!!:thumbup::thumbup:

Superb stag, SAK Guy!!:cool: What color is today's Farmer?

Wonderful knife, Jack! Are the handles steel? I once had a Rough Rider with "gunstock check bone" that had texture similar to that of your knife; I really enjoyed the feel of that handle treatment. ;)

Very cool knife, J_Curd! I'll join you in risking the wrath of the rabid Beer Scout rabble (just kidding, folks :p) and wondering why there was such a clamor for a knife with a caplifter when plenty of such options already exist. When I saw your What-A-Knife, it reminded me of this little Colonial (thanks, Dave):

Hope you have a marvelous time, Andi!! :D (I'll confess that I've never looked forward to octopus. :barf: )

Among the knives I've been carrying this week that I don't think I've posted during the week are a Winchester dogleg jack (thanks, Paul), a Keen Kutter Office Knife (thanks, Mark), and, as always, a Case peanut (thanks, Cory):

I agree Luc, there isn't anything you own I wouldn't snatch up in a NY minute including that OD micarta GEC FB!

Thanks Gev, it sure is, sturdy too, and locks up like one of those steel traps ;)

Great pic my friend :)

Thanks GT, the handles are Bexoid, a synthetic which was also used on British WW2 clasp knives. I had a RR Gunstock Canoe once, but gifted to ScruffUK, who used to post here. I'm surprised that type of finish isn't seen more often. More on the knife here: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/1184098-Needham-Hill-Street-Sheffield/page2, as well as in the Military Clasp Knife thread.

A great squad of knives there my friend

Did you notice my post here - http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/s...-Antique-Centre-Spree?p=15277106#post15277106 - BTW?

It is a handy little knife. Did you get it at What-a-Burger? :D
