What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Jack: that would provide the perfect finger slot to gain all the leverage you could need to aid in opening if these were "bear trap" knives...

Just keep rubbing it while it's in your pocket and see how long it takes to get it flush!!

Great knives today all! You guys keep reminding me that I need to branch out from GEC lol

Arrived today from Bob, I think it is gorgeous, flawless F&F. I prefer a spear to a wharnie but I actually like the feel of this one a little better then the spear.

Very intriguing knife, Gary! Love the short blade with the long handle. If you don't mind my asking, what is it?

On a somewhat related note (involving you, Gary, and knives with short blades with long/full-sized handles), I was looking at the Opinel Oyster Knife on their site tonight and thought it looked very interesting (for the same reasons I like the look of your knife above), but after searching BF I found the thread in which you purchased one only to find that it wasn't sharpened whatsoever, and wasn't even tapered at all. I find it curious that they still advertise it as the last 1.5 cm being "sharpened," when it's very clear from the photos of the one you purchased that it isn't sharpened even slightly; based on that description, I had the same thought as you - maybe you could just sharpen out the rest of it - so I'm glad I found that thread. You saved me a headache! Thanks, Gary!

Thanks sitflyer,Primble and btb01 the Tina is a German made knife, about the only carbon bladed folder I now have, gifted to me from Ken from Australia, nice with the longer handle and short blade, lots of control and quite pointy!

see this thread here One day I'll give one of the larger Tina sheeps foot a go.

and yes that Opinel was a disappointment for sure, I'm surprised they still have that sharpened description on their site, quite misleading. As to grinding it down, I don't know that it has much of a hardness as it's meant only to pry with so it might be more spring like temper and wouldn't hold an edge well, plus I don't have the means of removing that much metal I just sent her back, sadly!

and the Tina goes out again today ;)
