What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Not being able to get out of the house, I haven't been totin anything for a while. Today I decided it's been too long and threw this one in my pocket. Old pics, but they're better than indoor pics for now.

You would think, but I'm under strict Dr orders. It's a #15. The #77's have the pen secondary on the pile side. This one has the pen right in front of the long pull and I had such a hard time opening the main, I had to add the EO notch just to open it. Now I can pinch it open while coon fingering and chicken eyeing it.

I love the variations and character in that bone, and the jigging is just splendid. I could look at that knife all day!

I hope you're soon able to get out and enjoy some fresh winter air with an old friend in your pocket, Bob.

Late last night...

+1. I'm sure The Disappearance of THe Strix has been of concern to many of your friends P  So, come on, tell us where you found it! ;)

At some point in my comings and goings and (re)packings at the beginning of August, I evidently stowed it in the mesh side pocket of the caddy I use for my car-cleaning supplies-- a caddy that alternately lives in the back of my car ("boot," for those who are convinced a "trunk" indicates the front of an elephant), the garage, or more recently on a storage shelf in our basement.

Towards the end of attacking basement messes yesterday, yea unto the later hours, I sat down at the bottom of the steps and was soon joined by one of our cats. I held him for a good long while, eventually looking around to survey the ongoing disarray.

I was absently staring at the caddy, off its usual shelf and at an angle on the floor with its side pocket towards me, when I realized I was staring at my Strix through the mesh.

... While finding it at all is grand, I am also relieved to discover that, while forgetful, I had not been careless with it-- the specter of which had been haunting me in the knife's ongoing absence. That pocket was actually a good, safe place for the knife(!).

That's a great story P...Are you sure you didn't find it in the fridge really?! :p ;) :D

Fantastic to see it again anyway, really glad you've found it :)

Nice pics, Bob. I'm glad you're totin' that pretty knife.

I might do a little whittlin' today. The Norfolk is a fine tool for it. The Morgan silver dollar was my father in laws good luck piece.

Jack and Jake, great looking Davison knives. Wood and bone and great blades.

Beautiful bone on that one, Bob! I hope you are able to get out and about soon when it's OK to do so.

Gary, you can't go wrong with that Norfolk. Beautiful knife!

I'm carrying only the Presidential today. It has become the one knife I carry everyday (because of the comfortable feel in use) while others may share time occasionally. A new slip I got yesterday has made it even more pocketable.

Decided to carry this gift from my wife from about 15 years ago.

And of course my favorite 73 , which is almost always in my RFP

Thanks, Dean. That Presidential is a fine looking knife too. I really like the Arrowhead shield that Northwoods uses.
