What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Thanks GT. I'm glad you and your family are able to be together for Christmas!

...Thanks for you knife comments today, GT. Have a wonderful Christmas with your family.

I really like this one GT, hope you have a great visit with your daughter!
Thanks, GasMan, Dean, and Tom; having our daughter home last night was very enjoyable! :) Tom, I hope you had an unforgettable birthday yesterday!

...
Thank you GT. That Sheffield knife that Jack sent you is oh so fine !:)
...
Thanks, Primble. :) Not only does the knife make me happy, but I hope I made it happy and feeling right at home, as it went from Jack's kitchen table to living on my kitchen table for two months while I waited for it to make its "seasonal" debut.:D

...
Thanks GT :D When I didn't have to pay for cutlery, I also didn't have to pay for tents, sleeping bags, walking and climbing boots, and outdoor clothing (I was a professional gear tester at the time)! I had so much stuff that I had to rent another apartment to use as an office and warehouse! :D

The table will be back with a vengeance after Christmas my friend! :D

I'm glad you're enjoying the ring-opener, and that Girl Scout knife is a peach

Have a great holiday with your girls GT :)
...
I'm carrying this Camillus BSA Whittler today, won it in r8shell's giveaway a while back :) Came with a very nice pocket sheath :)

Jack, it sounds like you could have been King of the Boot Sale back in the gear-testing days! :p
Looking forward to your next table thread!
What a whimsical whittler/photo combo!
Thanks, as always, for your kind words, Jack. :)

Boy, that's a boss Boker Barlow, wazu!:cool:

Bob, you've got yourself a wicked world-class whittler there!!:thumbup::thumbup:

My newest baby and my very first pocket knife in stag, the #54 Big Jack with two full-sized blades (Clip and Spear)... A wonderful gift from fellow BF member "fot0"... Thank you Jason!

Congrats, Jeff; if you're anything like me, you're gonna love the stag covers! I don't have much stag of my own, but what I do have I really enjoy, and I sure appreciate seeing all the wonderful stag covers that folks post at BF. It's only 10:30 in the morning, but your stag reminds me of a chocolate sundae (and coming from me, that's an extremely high compliment)!! :D:thumbup::thumbup:

Yes indeed! :D Instead I used to give everything away - even to the postman! :D I still have a small bedroom crammed with 'stuff'! :D
Thank you my friend
You should have 'Never Knowingly Underknifed' as your strapline! :D

Watching the tracking on this one was like watching a kettle boil... Picked up from the PO last night, and into the pocket it goes for today. My first Sowbelly, and a really fine introduction to the pattern!

Spending the day with my malamute, Cleo, just back from an early hike. These three are with me on this cold and snowy day,

Joel Chamblin wharncliffe lock back whittler in CTS XHP, gold pins and nice stag, a Diamond Edge cattle knife by Tom Ploppert in CPM 154 and stag and my Bob Loveless drop point in 154cm and lignum vitae. Many people probably don't know this, but Bob did not heat treat his own knives, he used Paul Bos for well over twenty years. John Denton has a call out to Steve Johnson to ask who Bob used in the early years.

I just heard from Pasi Hurttila, he just finished my damascus puukko. Pasi does not forge damascus very often, I have been waiting a year and a half for him to forge this billet. I am a bit excited about this one.

Thanks, Jack Black.

Liking this one more and more after the satin finish went on.

I agree. Sometimes I want to do this to all mine. Polished bolsters are always showing smudges and swirls. Sweet Barlow.

It's been a busy month. I really hope everyone has an amazing Christmas (yeah, we say that in Texas!).

I'm toting something a bit, um, different today...

Blasphemer! Put it back! Put it back! :P

Just kidding nice looking mod. Personally, I prefer the spear on the 15 frame, but clips are my second favorite.

Jack,

Out of curiosity, do you know Chris Townsend?

I got to know Chris back in the 90s as we both frequented rec.backcountry. This was back in the day, long before the long September of the post-AOL world, usenet spam bots and Mike Vandeman. Things go full circle... My daughter, now in college, is in an outdoor leadership program and she's getting the latest version of Chris's great handbook.

Working from home today and carrying this one.

Having a hard time posting today. Lots of great looking knives; unfortunately my multi-quote post refuses to post.

Here's my carry for today.

Enjoying looking at all the new snow, until I have to go to work the next two days. Somebody has to do it. So just hanging out at home... I get my last massage of the year later this afternoon..

I originally wanted a spear, but it would've required too much removal of length to get the end symmetrical. I wanted a long pull with a narrower closed profile. This will work!

However, I do need to work on the swedge.

Oh! I thought you started with a spear. Was it a sheep?
