What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Outstanding Barlow Markesharp !!! What spec steel do you use ??

After almost 50 years, I'm quiting cigs
Innokin Endura T18
Innokin uCan v2.0 dispenser
Mercator Solingen Black Cat

Good luck! I quit them coming up on 9 years ago and still love how much better I feel. Some days are hard but knowing that daily you're healthier, especially in the beginning, makes it easier

Haven't decided what to carry on my forced day off. A new case cv sowbelly stockman and ka bar coppersmith stockman came in yesterday, and I can't wait for either to patina naturally (the bolsters on the ka bar) plus im still in love with my newest Davison. Hopefully that's the toughest decision I have to make today on break day of this turnaround.

Those case/Bose knives are something else. I dream of owning a coffin jack one day.
For some reason I seem to remember that you live in GA. If so, it could always be worse. Just think back to a couple years ago when the highways just shut down in the middle of the afternoon. Thank god I left Atlanta an hour or so before all that chaos happened and didn't get stranded out there with everybody else.

Yep. And yep. I saw a coffin jack on the exchange and by the time I was looking at it - poof - it was gone. Like snow in GA, except for the two times in the millennium.

There must have been a bit of subliminal messaging with all the Svord pictures the last few days. I had to reach for a friction folder today :)

Preparing for the 10-15 inches of snow coming in, according to NWS Louisville. This ole black Catt showed up at my door the other day. I gave her a cat bath and a good brushing, snapped a few pics with my phone, and tossed her in with the other Catts. I need a new fur buster brush to deal with all the fur. I was happy to get this type of shield on a Catt, previously not in my collection of them:

Well, I chose the sowbelly today. Had to find a plug a tire leak in my daily driver, the baby girl helping (of course I kept her home on my one day off). Now that's done and it'll hopefully make it till end of February. Off to the store and hopefully talk baby girl into sitting in my lap for a movie after. Gotta stretch those moments while she's 4.

I realize I'm getting older when all those young uns that work for me talk about going fishing, hunting, drinking and chasing women on their one days off and I have been looking forward to a day of just me and my daughter. And wouldn't change it for the world. The cv sowbelly gets her honor of accompanying us today. It's already cut the tag out of a new shirt for her. "Daddy, cut the tag out, with the knife in your pocket".

Excuse the cut off tip. Photo bucket actually did that for some reason. That was the 4th try so I gave up. More important things to do today than fight with a computer.

That's always how it is for me as well. [emoji14] The star of the show might be little orange sheeps-nut, what's its story?

The peanut's pen wasn't very useful to me so I ground it onto a sheep foot, it now works great for scraping the inside of my pipes.

Cool photo, Tom! Is that one of the special edition Pioneers?

My kitchen knives this week are a Cudeman from Toledo, Spain

You are correct sir! I finally caught some blue ALOX, seems like I have been after it forever. I really like the Cudeman, and I forgot to post the other day: the stag Joker is a stunner .

My new blue again today:

Thanks for the comments T. Erdelyi, GT and Primble.

Great knives and pictures everyone. Very nice Congress Paul.

I went with these two today. A Case 6254 Trapper, thank you Primble, and a Vic Solo.

Couple of cool Camilli, Jack! Their basic shapes look quite similar; are they actually built using the same frame?

Thanks GT, the TL-29 is a 1/4" longer

Cool pic Ted

Loving that Boker every time it makes an appearance. The jigging pattern reminds me of the carvings on my cocobolo Westmark trapper.

Thank you :) Yes indeed, they are quite similar aren't they? First knife I've had like this, and I think it makes for a very comfortable grip. Nice Trapper

Your Camillus might be a distant relation to my little Boker and his big Pal.

They're lovely  I like your pocket compass too, I must get mine out for a pic with my new Rope Knife :)

Very nice Mr P, stay warm

Great pic Paul, nice to see the loch too :)

Here's me today, thanks to Charlie C :) Splice the main brace! :D

That's the way to put your mark on a knife! It looks (and functions) better now, that's for sure. Maybe instead of spending a lot of money I can take one of my older Queen or Queen-made Ontario Barlows (which seem to come with oversized pen blades in addition to that neat Queen bolster and covered springs) and make my very own sheep secondary blade. Great idea! :D

Old Timer 8OT

A classic workhorse, though I will admit that seeing it gave me another twinge of remorse for letting a very big, very clean, very cheap 858 slip away from me just last night for lack of paying attention. :grumpy:

I went with these two today. A Case 6254 Trapper, thank you Primble, and a Vic Solo.

That is an awesome trapper, Ken, and the jigging pattern is really neat, especially with scales that color. I wonder how Primble does it... :D

Thank you, the Westmark nearly made another appearance today but I went with an oft-neglected Queen Barlow instead.

I've got two or three of those ACE compasses floating around. The pictured one's the most "antique" looking of them all, likely from an honorable lifetime of carry and use helping soldiers and engineers stay on the straight and narrow.

Love the file work on that Northfield's bail. I think Popeye does, too! :D

Today's "wooden't you like some too?" office carry. :p Weird how I never end up bringing my Camillus "office knife" to the office... :D

Gorgeous fishbone barlow, Markesharp. I carried my Case mini-WT today.

Thank you Jeff! Nice WT

Thanks Brother Jim. It's 1095 steel. Way to go on quitting smoking, you can buy more knives. :D

I agree Paul, Mark is making some beautiful stuff. Great looking blade with alot of character to boot.

Thanks Tim, I appreciate it my friend.

I also got my first SBJ, a limited Case in marigold bone, after such a long while of ogling the pattern and wishing I had a nice one. I think that mission is accomplished. :D

Thatt's okay, because your fabrication skills are outstanding! :thumbup:

If you're planning on putting some flat grinds on those spearpoints you mentioned in this thread then I think I may have found my first custom Barlow, once you're all settled. PM me when you've "set up shop". ;)

That Marigold bone on your SBJ is awesome! I haven't seen one in that color before.
Thank you for the compliment sir. :)

Test driving the Nieto Climber again. Day one was a complete success, thus begins day II:

Nice selection today, Tsar. I especially like that Queen Barlow. Love those asymmetrical bolsters on the older Queens.

Some really great knives today! I love the Catt, the Peanut, the 85, the NYKC Barlow, the Case's, etc! I got this one yesterday...I've been looking for a stag custom and I had to have this one by Bret...
