I only wish I had the skill to get close to one on foot, r8shell
I was driving through a heavily wooded area in College Station and he was chasing something across the road. I only saw a flash to the right and then him coming from the left, on the other side of the road. I hit the brakes and he zoomed in front of me, across the road and into the thicket after his quarry! It was a bright crisp cold day so I got a good look and thrill
Ron
Keep the red bone beauties coming....wow! Your driving Primble into a game of dueling red bones
Thanks for your kind words.
...
Gev, thanks for the details on the bobcat sighting!

I feel pretty fortunate to be able to witness this red bone repartee!:thumbup:
...
GT - Thanks for the compliment

That RR Canoe is a terrific looking knife!
Some 1970's Case Muskrat love is the show me for today and the old faithful friend in Red is the use me for today!
Thanks for the RR canoe compliment, Ron.

The RR checkered bone is VERY appealing, I think!
But then in a totally different league, there's the vintage Case red bone you and Primble are flashing this week!

...
A different set of redbones in my pocket today - a mini copperhead and the stainless stockman, both from the 1970's with double pinned shields:
Sorry about my looong fingers and iPhone reflecting in the front bolster.

Some beautiful choices by everyone today!

I toted this 70's Case 6380 Whittler in my slip and this Chestnut SBJ in my watch pocket today. I didn't think I was every going to get all them greasy fingerprints from the lunch table wiped back off my whittler!

You would think some of these young uns have never seen a real knife before!

Recycled photos its raining!

Bravo! Bravo! Bravissimo!!!

Thanks for sharing those red bone Cases with us, Primble and Ron!!
Thanks for the weather update, Primble.

Glad to hear that your "best spot" for photos is back in operation (but I'd welcome hearing your thoughts on setting up indoor lighting).
...
Thanks GT! The second one is not actually a knife sheath, but a carry case for an Arkansas Oilstone that belonged to my dad. I found it recently, and know nothing about it but am keeping it for sentimental reasons.
Terrific Trio sir
Thanks, Tom, and thanks for setting me straight on the oilstone case; wonderful memento to have!
...
I have only enough pocket real estate for a single folder today, so I went with a John Lloyd Lanny's Clip.
Yowza, I forgot about that amazing knife, Tom!!
Thank you my good sir, I thought I'd go with the Rope Knife again today, and a different TC

Very distinguished pair, Jack! Either would go well with anything, and together they're primo!!
...I'm carrying my gifted Ap
pauloosa today.
Splendid knife, Dean, and I really like the appropriate name you've given it!
Very nice! I'm by no means a sea-faring man, but I have this strong urge to get some kind of nautical knife!
...
I'm right there with you with the canoe, although to date the only ones I own are a trio of NKCA gunboat 1978 club knives, one of which has found its way into my carry rotation (spear, pen, and spey blade, plenty of utility there).
I may have to set up security around my Cutsure!

Thanks, GT!
What do you think of your 18OT? I ended up with a Taylor-made Schrade #804 "anniversary" splitback whittler, and while Taylor's issues are well-documented around here it is overall a pretty nice knife. Pretty jigged bone, reasonably flush springs, good snap, humane pull, just a nice medium whittler overall. I don't know how great an edge the steel will take but I'm definitely warming to the knife. I might even keep it around for a while.

Tsar, I think I have 4 Taylor Schrade Old Timers, and they seem to be quite comparable in quality to the 3 Schrade USA models I have. The color of the handles doesn't quite match the originals, and the Chinese blades are all stainless, but to me those are cosmetic rather than functional issues. I do think the center pins on all of my Taylor Schrade Old Timers sit too high, and interfere with the comfort of my grip. Your whittler looks good!

Here is me today with my first 73 that finally arrived through the winter storm
Congrats on your 73, Jeff; that and the scratted Ancient are a dynamic duo!
forget it....photobucket sucks
Alright Jack and Rob, let's see if this works!
Sorry to hear about the ongoing problems with PhotoBucket.

FWIW, I saw your pic this morning, and if you were "fishing for compliments" with those lures, you caught a whopper from me: that Davison is fabulous!!:thumbup:
I haven't posted here in awhile. Things got a bit busy and then we spent a little time in Palm Beach and I was pretty much away from the forum. We're home now, waiting for the next snow.
Not a new picture of my Halfrich Small Rounder, but it's in my pocket today.
Nice knives and pics guys!
Good Golly, Gary!! Gorgeous!!
More of my carry this week:
