What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Conductor in ebony for wood wednesday - I will have to check out others submissions later!

I'm carrying this today because I had to cut down a lot of cardboard for recycling this morning. I had a lot of the really thick, dense, industrial-type cardboard to break down and the D2 carbides in my queen whispered through with little resistance and the edge barely dulled it all. Very impressive!

Is that the No.2 pattern Jack?

A small but really nice pattern you don't hear enough about. Once you get that D2 sharp, it's killer If you see what I mean....:D:D

Regards, Will

Splendid knife, Dean, and I really like the appropriate name you've given it!:D

More of my carry this week:
a Boker USA electrician

Thanks, Gary. I have an electrician on my get-one-someday list. I find them to be a simple but interesting design. I've never seen a Boker one before, nice.

Speaking of electricians, your Schrade "Tool for Lineman" is the classic and greatest example of the pattern, flatblackcapo.

1970 Case XX model 6308 red bone whittler (probably my very favorite red bone that I own):

My 6308 is my favorite, too, Rob, but it's nothing compared to yours! That one knocks my socks off every time you post it. The 6308, 10-dot was the very first knife I bought strictly as a collectible, in 1985.

Very nice Case Barlow Dean. I'm carrying these two today. TC barlow in walnut and a Vic Classic.

Thanks, Ken. Beautiful set of knives you have for today. The TC is a beauty, and the Alox Classic is a looker also. I've been thinking about getting an Alox Classic, but I don't think I could go without a toothpick.

Good golly, Gev! Another great electrician; the wood on that one looks nice.

I decided to go yellow today. I know its wooden Wednesday, but this one called and I answered.

Some great knives and a lot of Wooden Wednesday entrants! Today has been a bear of a day with multiple tornado warnings and lots of indoors stuff to do (gotta justify that paycheck!), so unfortunately I can't let my wooden workers out to frolick, which is why they might be looking a little unhappy here. Day #2 for the 11031SH; since I received it I've been fascinated with it. It's a hard knife to put down! It's slender but feels good in the hand, that big sheepsfoot is a wonder cut-all blade, and you can't help but feel classy taking it out to use. Unfortunately, I've also been clumsy with it -- put a bit of a ding on the end of a bolster running out the door trying to do too much at one time. Oh well, it was always meant to be a carry knife anyway, and it's still beautiful. :p Here with my carbon Opi #8 and my trusty signature Buck 303 (would it be too improper to say I'm starting to prefer the saber grind on the newer USA Buck folders over the old FFG? :D)

No Barlow today, either... I can't even recognize myself in the mirror. :o

This thread has become death by red bone.   So is it true that the swayback means you're pulling out the Big Guns, Ron? :D :D

TsarBomba - The SBJ is not really that big! It fits nicely in the watch pocket.

What else would you expect ? ;):D

Somehow these found a way in my pockets today. ;):D

For some that may not be familiar with Case, the 1970 ten dot knives marked the first year of the yearly dot system for Case, which continues today.

Primble - Nice ones again today my friend! I do admit that 6308 is special!!!:D And so is that Steingass!

...

Hm hard to say Ron..but both of those are some great looking Case knives. Buffalo horn looks great in the light.

Problem is that around here, whoever gets crowned king can easily get knocked off their perch if they blink a time or two ! ;):D:D:D I ilke the patina on the Opinel !:)

Haha thanks Primble, the Opinel is ol' faithful / tackles any task with complete ease.

Thank you, Sir!! I really don't know if the knife is original or not. I have never seen Westinghouse in person so I can't make a comparison. If it was recovered, and it may well be, whomever did a wonderful job:) Great picture as usual and I hope the knife smooths out well for your father:thumbup::thumbup:

Ah well either way it looks awesome, the colour really reminds me of Westinghouse.

Wharncliffe Wednesday..forgot it was Wooden Wednesday.
