What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Ron
The whittler is off the charts wondrous....wow! All this red bone is a treat!!!

Gev - Thanks for the kindness!:)

First day to carry my first, but definitely not last, Davison. I really love pretty much everything about this knife.

Wilsonhome - I also really love pretty much everything about this knife!

Problem is that around here, whoever gets crowned king can easily get knocked off their perch if they blink a time or two ! ;):D:D:D

I could just go with the pocket watch group shot and call it a day ! ;):D:D:D Shhh - don't tell nobody, but, I think he is running out of old redbones since he put that swayback horse in the race today. ;):D

I'll be sending my Wildcats down to Knoxville a week from tonight to straighten him out ! ;):D

Hey my friend - that is another quite lovely big ole whittler knife ! Too big for the watch pocket ?:confused::confused: ......................... I'll be back. ;):D

Recycled pics !!!??? :eek::eek::eek::grumpy:;):D

Primble - You can keep the crown my friend.;) Your pictures of them red bones along with many from others here is what 1st helped draw me to the porch.

Them 2 you posted today are both really nice ones!

Yes, it is way to big for the watch pocket, but that swayback horse really does fits quite nicely!:p :confused: Thanks for the compliment on my whittler buddy.:D

I thought we was friends, and you had to go and threaten me with the Big Blue!

Thanks for the RR canoe compliment, Ron. :) The RR checkered bone is VERY appealing, I think!
But then in a totally different league, there's the vintage Case red bone you and Primble are flashing this week!:thumbup::D

Bravo! Bravo! Bravissimo!!! :thumbup::eek::eek::thumbup:
Thanks for sharing those red bone Cases with us, Primble and Ron!!

Gary - Thank you my friend! Your RR Sowbelly is also a terrific looking knife!

Ah....the gentleman's glove slap....this is gonna get good:eek:;):D:D:D I think I hear tumblers on the vault..shhhh

Gev - At least I have tomorrow to recover from that slap! It would be a sacrilege to carry Red Bone on Wooden Wednesday! :D shhhh.... Digital my friend, digital!:eek::D

Your so right my friend! Wood it is....I will take the opportunity to get out something that has been sitting on the proverbial shelf to long. Hope you have a wonderful evening:D

Always a treat to see that one Tom

Thanks Jack! I really should carry it more often, not sure why I don't

Beautiful carry! Micarta handles?

Thanks TsarBomba! Yes they are micarta, although I cannot recall the name of it presently. My first Lanny's Clip, hopefully not my last. I have been drooling over Dr. T's work recently :).

Always...always the best set up

Thanks AusLoX, good luck on your pocket sheath hunt ;)

I haven't posted here in awhile. Things got a bit busy and then we spent a little time in Palm Beach and I was pretty much away from the forum. We're home now, waiting for the next snow.
Not a new picture of my Halfrich Small Rounder, but it's in my pocket today.
Nice knives and pics guys!

And yours too, Gary. That is quite a fiery folder!

Some beautiful choices by everyone today! :) I toted this 70's Case 6380 Whittler in my slip and this Chestnut SBJ in my watch pocket today. I didn't think I was every going to get all them greasy fingerprints from the lunch table wiped back off my whittler! You would think some of these young uns have never seen a real knife before!:rolleyes: Recycled photos its raining! :D:eek:

This thread has become death by red bone.   So is it true that the swayback means you're pulling out the Big Guns, Ron? :D :D

Tsar, I think I have 4 Taylor Schrade Old Timers, and they seem to be quite comparable in quality to the 3 Schrade USA models I have. The color of the handles doesn't quite match the originals, and the Chinese blades are all stainless, but to me those are cosmetic rather than functional issues. I do think the center pins on all of my Taylor Schrade Old Timers sit too high, and interfere with the comfort of my grip. Your whittler looks good!
...
More of my carry this week:
a Boker USA electrician
a Rough Rider sowbelly stockman
a MAM sheepsfoot friction folder

The bone on the whittler has a little gap towards the same hinge under both scales, but it's really the kind of thing that only bothers a knife knut. The color and jigging of the bone makes up for that, however.

You always seem to carry the best linesman knives (though I think someone's got you beat today :p). It's more prudent to carry my big SAK sheathed than a nice sleek TL-29 in my Camillus pouch, or on my hip, but I always like using the Camillus more. Why can't everything be a wire to strip or a big flathead screw to drive? :D
That is a super nice Schrade linesman's knife! Wish my 4-line Camillus had blades that full. :p
Primble, I've always been impressed with the quality of your photos, but if you tell me that you take them all with your iPhone, then I might just give up. :D
Hear, hear! :D

Delta Airlines lost my luggage today. In my suitcase was my Victorinox Classic and Cadet. As soon as I got home I pocketed my Schlieper Eye Brand copperhead.
A man needs a good little knife in pocket at all times.
I am complete!! ;-)

Cheers, guys!

Very distinguished pair, Jack! Either would go well with anything, and together they're primo!!

Thanks a lot GT. I have a Boker Electrician, but mine is battered! :D I love the simplicity and great lines of those MAM knives, but the liner-locks probably mean I wouldn't carry one much here

What beautiful character, great pic

Great-looking Sheepsfoot

Delta Airlines lost my luggage today. In my suitcase was my Victorinox Classic and Cadet.

Oh no! Hope you get it back

Primble - I thought we was friends, and you had to go and threaten me with the Big Blue!

What else would you expect ? ;):D

Oops! Forgot to post today's carry! :D

Fine fine pairing Mr. Jack !:)

Somehow these found a way in my pockets today. ;):D

For some that may not be familiar with Case, the 1970 ten dot knives marked the first year of the yearly dot system for Case, which continues today.

Running a little behind this morning, so I can't reply individually, but I appreciate all the comments yesterday :) Great knives posted as well, as usual!

As my sickness for stockman knives continues to grow, this Queen #26 Small Stockman arrived yesterday, and won't let me participate in Wooden Wednesday this week.

Very nice Case Barlow Dean. Beautiful knife Peregrin. Spectacular as usual Primble.

Thanks Gev, that's a great pair, I could stare at them for hours

I'm carrying this today because I had to cut down a lot of cardboard for recycling this morning. I had a lot of the really thick, dense, industrial-type cardboard to break down and the D2 carbides in my queen whispered through with little resistance and the edge barely dulled it all. Very impressive!
