What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

I admire (and envy) your attitude toward knife photos, Tim. For me, taking knife photos is time-consuming and stressful, and "composition" is a word I don't know. :o My goal is to get a pic now and then that's in focus! I will admit I've improved a lot, but it's certainly not a very enjoyable aspect of the hobby for me.
Nice job on the new finishes!

These knives had kitchen duty this week (usually my "big" knife and my "Euro" knife from one week become my kitchen knives the following week).

Thank you GT, haha 99% of it is just getting it in frame and in focus. With knife photos I can't ask for more so I always appreciate your photos.
Good looking Joker as always~

Today I am totin' this #47 Hayn' Helper Sheep Foot, because it is new and OD was "Heads". :D

I am also totin' this #92 Talon clad in Che Chen Rosewood, because it reminds me just how important my friends are to me. ;)

Luc and you both have OD Green micarta on the mind Ron, great looking talon too :) That knife had some wonderful wood covers in hand.

been a while since I've posted here - got a new one yesterday. From the tube straight into the pocket.

My love for OD Micarta is still as strong as ever!

Nice to see you back Luc :D

Great shot and that hayn' helper is awesome :)

Beautiful knife, and perfect lighting - well done!

Thank you Jeff, credits go to my balcony and overcast Winter days xD And....subscribed! edit:: Just finished watching, really great video Jeff~

Thank you Tim and that Erickson sings to me, in part because it has an old world feel to it.:)

Agreed :) I'm not sure if they had zulu spears back in the day but the construction and jigging of this one is very period correct, love it~

Great looking Whittler JW~

Great comment and a great photo of that Erikson. What a knife, Tim!
Thanks Dean, finally getting another barlow myself soon. :) Been a long time without any barlow action for me. That 77 is my favourite of Mike's SFO's~

The Talon is a really beautiful example Ron! Such is friendship:cool::thumbup::thumbup:

Thanks, Will

Will - Thank you my friend.:)

Lots of great stuff today, everyone!

Today I had something special with me - my first fixed blade ever (this one was circa 1981-83, IIRC) - a Buck 102, given to me by my dad for my first deer hunting trip. I've never taken photos of this one before:

Derek - Priceless, my friend, just priceless!

"Leg up" :D:D You're right about neglecting the Case sowbelly, Ron. I think I'll seriously consider carrying my chestnut bone Case CVs (SBS, SBJ, and SBJr) EVERY day, and then rotate all the rest.
That Viper may not be vintage, but it is Va-Va-Voom!!;)

Classic and classy and not flashy!! That one will look good in any era, Ron!:thumbup:

GT - Thanks X2! :) I always love seeing that Joker!

Love this Ron, beautiful and classy

Drew - I appreciate that! :) Love that Smooth Bone Harvester! :D:thumbup:

Beautiful Talon, Ron. That Che Chen almost glows.

I was out hiking with this Barlow today.

Dean - Thank you. :) Great photo and Barlow there today!

Tim - Thank you, yes the OD won me over instantly! :) Yes the Talon is special and one of my most cherished knives! :D

Great pics and great knives as always, folks!

I'd like to see the 2016 forum knife as a Case Seahorse Whittler in those beautiful 1970's red bone scales we've been seeing recently.
Probably the wrong post to mention that but what the heck.

As far as I'm concerned there is no wrong post for that. A red bone 'horse would probably set me back for the cost of 2-3. :o

I have been thinking about replacing the missing shield. I could probably contact Boker, and see if I can get a new one. Just for fun, I've been keeping an eye out anything interesting that might fit. Yesterday, a friend of mine gave me a little ivory disc, so I skrimmed a Boker tree on it. I haven't glued it in yet, as I'm not sure if I like it yet.

Nothing Boker could sell you will look better, or give that knife more character and more identity, than your scrim. My vote is to keep it.

The Hay'n Helper was perfect for trimming tags:

GEC has quite a hit on their hands with that 47, I see. :D

Mac hard at work at his one big cutting task for the entire day:

He sure did make short work of that...

What a difference a week makes! Snow up to the window sills last weekend and 60 degrees plus for today, but, howling winds.

I looked at this thread early this morning and jumped on the 92 band wagon, plus one of my Catts thrown in for good measure:
