What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Thanks, Ron. I like that Washington Jack you carrying today.

First day in several weeks with a knife in my pocket and it feels good to be back in the fold. :D

Great knife for your first day carrying again, Bob! Looking forward to what else you'll be carrying.

As usual, I've got the Burgundy Presidential (foreground) today, but the new Ebony is on deck. I just need to do some sharpening and cleaning to get it up to snuff.

Very good again all. Spectacular knives and spectacular pics.

GT, I'm not sure if the pen on the Barlow is stainless or not. However it is little used.
Also, the button I use in my pictures is from a set of nest weights that were used on an old postal scale.

Before retirement I was a Canadian Federal Weights & Measures Inspector and have collected a few interesting odds and ends.

Today I just carried just one. A Camillus Cutlery Co., Sword Brand camp knife. I think it's from the 40's.

Have a good night folks!

Horn Lag to remind me summer may exist at some stage.....

Aristocratic knife there, Will! Hang in there; I figure another 6 months and the weather should be much more pleasant! ;)

Some of my favorites for today.

Chris
Brilliant photo, Chris! Starburst puts MUCH better prizes in their packages than I remember getting out of Cracker Jack! :p

This 47 and my 73s

Harry
That is centerfold stag on your new 47, Harry; congrats!

...I have been thinking about replacing the missing shield. I could probably contact Boker, and see if I can get a new one. Just for fun, I've been keeping an eye out anything interesting that might fit. Yesterday, a friend of mine gave me a little ivory disc, so I skrimmed a Boker tree on it. I haven't glued it in yet, as I'm not sure if I like it yet.
Yowza, Rachel, FWIW, I'm sure I like it! That scrimshaw ivory is totally deluxe! Do you do any contract scrimshaw work??

City Knife in zebrawood and a new addition, a Winchester scout knife.

Congrats on the new Winchester scout, Tom; looks like an excellent find! Are the covers "french ivory", or just some kind of yellow celluloid, or what?

Today I am totin' this #47 Hayn' Helper Sheep Foot, because it is new and OD was "Heads". :D

Congrats on the fine, first-class new 47 Sheep, Ron! Do you have a two-blade version (or isn't that even an option on this latest run)?

Thank you GT, haha 99% of it is just getting it in frame and in focus. With knife photos I can't ask for more so I always appreciate your photos.
Good looking Joker as always~
...
Thanks, Tim. :)

...
GT - Thanks X2! :) I always love seeing that Joker!
...
Thanks for the gracious words about the Joker, Tim & Ron. :)

High-class stag on that Forum knife, P&G!

Nice first post Brisket. Welcome to the porch.

Chris
+5K! Imaginative photo, BrisketBBQ! :p

I feel pretty joyful to see you back, Bob!:D:cool: How did you decide what knife to carry after the long layoff??

Fine TC and photo Mr. Jack ! Fine 92's Ron and Bob ! Fine eating Shane ! Wonderful stag Forum knife Curtis !:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::D

What a difference a week makes! Snow up to the window sills last weekend and 60 degrees plus for today, but, howling winds.

I looked at this thread early this morning and jumped on the 92 band wagon, plus one of my Catts thrown in for good measure:

I don't think of myself as a cat-fancier, but Primble, you may be changing my mind! ;) You post some killer Catts, for sure!

These three fine knives are with me today,

Pasi Hurttila damascus(15n20 & 80CRv2) puukko, Joel Chamblin whittler and a Texas Jack by Tony Bose

Have a great Sunday folks.
All beauties, Kris, but that Chamblin is especially luxurious to me!

The photos you've posted in several threads the past couple of days are whimsical and memorable!!:D Did you ever do the "mirror thing" before? I was studying your 2 blue 25s with the card decks and frame, and said to myself, "I think I've seen something like this at BF before and I fell for it completely!"

Congrats, Dean; you're doubly Presidential now! A very notable pair!

Thanks for the fascinating responses, Ken. :) Outstanding old camp knife!

I'm temporarily (until Monday) carrying some new knives that arrived this week that I was "processing" yesterday and today. I still have to assign them their positions in the rotation schedule I slavishly follow.

Sure did, once upon a Barlow! The effect is easier to hide with a barlow bolster (no mark-side shield):

I feel like such a rushin' rube! :o
How could I NOT have noticed the card deck color discrepancies of the "double-sided nail nicks"???:(
Well-played, young lady! :thumbup::D:D

All of her fun tricking us old guys is going to come to an abrupt end when she has to ship her second one off in a few days ...................... unless she really bought three ! ;):D:D

It was a very scientific process Gary. The Eureka was the last one I carried before going into the hospital and it was sitting on my desk right there in front of me. :D:thumbup:

Good point, Primble! The suspense is gonna do me in. :(

Thanks for the insights, Bob! :D:D I'm obviously overthinking my whole "weekly carry rotation schedule" approach! ;)

Thank you, my friend. Here's another look from yesterday:

I think that knife is what started my love for clip points, way back in the day. It's almost the quintessential "fixed blade knife" in my mind! Very nice shot, btw.

I wish I had the dedication to be able to plan ahead like that. Mine is just random to some extent based on what I'll be doing for the day.

Kris, outstanding knives today. You know how I feel about the Chamblin masterpiece and the Bose speaks for itself. That Puuko is very intriguing. I have to try some of that birch bark sometime. Good to see you posting some of your beauties.
