Thanks a lot Ron, your Lambsfoot is stunning

Thank you Mr. Jack.:)

Mr. Jack and Mr. Halfstop - fine IXL's !!

Thank you Primble. :) You just keep posting these old beauties, thanks for sharing.

Jack
I agree with Ron...super character on the IXL my friend!! Have a great day:D

Mark - The bone on your NYKC is mesmerizing!

I don't care if it's Stag Saturday or not! Backwards bone Ancient for me today. (Scales were put on upside down, 1 of 5)

Jake - A great shot of that rare Ancient!

Wonderful Walnut.

...
Thanks GT, yesterday :) Once, all kicks were like that :)

I must get round to updating that clasp knife thread at some point :)
ALL kicks were "stovepipes"? Hard to imagine.
I hope you get a chance to update it, Jack, but so many threads, so little time... ;)

Alternated between these two all week.

Both appealing knives, Rachel!

Carried my 73 appaloosa today...
20d5c2b5adbfeb31909c07a0287f36db.jpg
Stunning! I've drooled over stag 73s a lot, but I'm beginning to think it's the pattern that grabs me, regardless of the covers; your bone 73 is amazing!

...
GT
Thanks for the compliment, kind sir! The Case soddy is a great looking knife! I may break down someday on a Vic electrician.
...
Thanks, Gev. :) I carry that Electrician every day (actually, that's true of the Sodbuster, too).

...
Thank you Gary - Nice Soddie!

Carrying this #47 to tide me over for a few more days!;)

22885684400_d7f79ca4c3_b_d.jpg
Thanks, Ron. :) I won the Sodbuster in a BigBiscuit GAW over a year ago, and have carried it ever since as kind of a reminder. (It also introduced me to the charms of Case jigged chestnut bone.)
You have some very striking osage orange handled knives!

...
I really like the acid etch on your SAK GT, did you acid wash it? Nice trio for the week.
...
Really beautiful day out with the pup. Carried this today for walking about.

tumblr_o0gotmFWQ21rzq6m9o2_1280.jpg
That's a great knife, Tim! Thanks for the kind words about my knives, but I have to confess I have no idea what an acid etch or wash is. :o I suspect whatever you're seeing to make you say that is just an artifact of my image of the SAK. That's an old scanned image I made on an MFD at work before I figured out how to take photos, and I suspect the light of the scanner could cause all kinds of strange effects for someone like me who didn't know what he was doing.

...
That is more M's than I could ever think up GT ! Thank you ! I meant to tell you that I was admiring your LF&C knife yesterday and then the forum broke. ;):D
...
Not sure if you mean the Encore knife or the tennis shoe that replaced my pic this morning, but, thank you Rachel ! ;):D
...
Thanks, Primble. :) What causes those rogue photo replacements, anyway? I saw another one last week one time.

...
Sigh. I am going to start responding to the day's carries in notetab first, this happens to me way too often.

Today's carry - Mac, my sheepsfoot Wolstenholm Barlow, and a late model Camillus TL-29 in place of the usual SAK which took a well-deserved Friday off.

TB, I tend to use a text editor to do some occasional back-ups of posts on which I'm working, just in case.
Man, that IXL Barlow and the TL-29 are choice chunks of cutlery!!:thumbup:

...
Edit - Oops! Forgot to include today's carry! :D Have a great weekend everyone

Splendid pair, as usual, Jack; notable IXL! Have you ever paired the rope knife with the scratted Ancient, or are the blade shapes too similar?

Remarkable lamb's foot, Ron!

...
I am going with these two today. A pair of H. Dorwals from Germany. I'm going to post these on the B.L. forum to see if I can get a little more info on them.

Have a great day all!

Fantastic black/white pairing, Ken!

Thanks Rob and Ken! For Stag Saturday I'm going with my #85 and an old cross Electrician.

Lotta nice Barlows showing up here, but you can sure be proud of that one, Keith!

Thanks GT, love the Canoe

My carry for Mardi Gras today.

Thanks, Tom; I think canoes are for me what City Knives are for you! ;) Wonderful pair you've got, and the Mardi Gras beads are a great touch!

Rancher and Peanut
That is a prime peanut, Woodrow!

Wow... Take a few days off, and it takes a loooong time to catch up :) Some fantastic carries and shots the last few days - way too many to comment individually!

Tom and Dan made me want to dig out a pocket sheath today :)

Primble : That is what Gunstocks and Pruners should look like !!!!!!! IMO .

Harry

Thank you Harry ! I thought you might like the stag on that T. Turner knife, you being such a fine judge of stag. ;):D

Primble, excellent knives lately like always. It's nice that you collect the advertising for them as well.

Thank you Jake !:) A fine parchment bone ancient and I am looking forward to seeing pics of your latest Davison, I saw in the Davison thread. ;):)

Put my Joel Chamblin small WT in my pocket today. It's sharing the limelight with a coin my Granddad brought back from France after WW1.

Fine looking NYKC jack ! Those old knives in natural bone tend to be quite stunning.:)

Thanks, Rob! It's nice to keep the memories alive.
I couldn't agree with you more about Primble and his collecting and photographing excellence!

Thank you Gary. The collecting part was my favorite part. ;):D

I very much appreciated the post and your time,my friend! I saved it:thumbup::thumbup::D

You are welcome my friend. I really find that I need three hands to take a picture out of that book. :D:D

Thank you Mr P, looks like you're becoming attached to that Thomas Turner, easy to see why :)

Thank you Jack and I have an affection toward it, clearly. :D

Thank you Primble. :) You just keep posting these old beauties, thanks for sharing.

Thank you Ron - A fine bloodwood, the best of the run, IMO. ;):)

Love the wood on that knife, Ron! Good to see your giving some time to as many pieces as possible;):D:thumbup: I put my NYKCo in my other pocket...just because.

Thanks for the compliment, Gary! All these scrimshaws are making me want to try my hand at it. That is a good looking leg and scrim on it.

Canuck

Very cool and Small Bark River:eek:

GT, your lady has a long leg sir!! Is the owl graphic scrimshaw?

Rob, I can't wait to get that one in hand. When Todd sent me the picture, I couldn't believe how nice it came out...I'm pretty sure I yelled "Holy (expletive)!!!!" Hahaha.

Splendid pair, as usual, Jack; notable IXL! Have you ever paired the rope knife with the scratted Ancient, or are the blade shapes too similar?

Thank you my friend. I'm often tempted to carry those two knives, but the similarity of the blade shapes has always deterred me

Haha perhaps my eyes deceive me. An acid etch is when you dip a blade in ferric chloride or muriatic acid which will provide a black oxide. We call it patina. It's used on damascus or even stainless blades since they don't patina naturally.
Nice picks for the week, I love the Opinel as a kitchen blade as well. I just have to remember to get all the tape residue off of it first..;)

Nice choice. What model is that Northwoods called?

It's a first production run of the Indian River Jack that still incorporated the scagel hole which was then still able to be used under trademark at the time~

Wonderful Walnut.

Exceptionally wonderful Bob, did you matte the bolsters down?

I don't care if it's Stag Saturday or not! Backwards bone Ancient for me today. (Scales were put on upside down, 1 of 5)

Nice looking Ancient Jake :)

Shing ,a uk maker,rwl 34/carbon fibre

Shing's knives have really interested me lately, nice looking custom for sure~

Tim - Thank you, that is exactly what I have in mind! :D Nice IRJ.

Thank you Ron, haha can't wait to see what you picked out.

You guys are pulling out all the stops today! Excellent!

Seems both you and I had a Wharncliffes/Clips on the mind today Gary, beautiful work by Joel and very nice coin from France. Love old coins/currency.

Put this one I won in Bob's GAW in the pocket w/ the Opinel as soon as I received it from Mike/EyeDog. Great guy and equally great knife.
I was surprised that the wharncliffe on this blade was far less obtrusive in hand when the clip blade was open than some other wharncliffe/clip knives I've experienced.

I've been carrying this single clip #15 this past week. I was recently gifted (so to speak) the opportunity to buy this from a generous member who beat me to it and another (sold as a pair) on the exchange. I'd been looking for one of these for a while, so I'm very happy to have this one.

88A46103-DD0A-4D16-A052-E071C7D12520.jpg

What I didn't realize until I was looking around on GEC's site a couple days ago was that there have been (at least) two runs of these single clip #15s - these from 2014 with the nail nick, and a run from 2013 with a long pull. I love a long pull on a clip point, so now I'm one the hunt for one of those, too. :D

Those Green OTs are just cool.

Thank you 5K Qs! I indeed got a good one.

Half/Stop, that is beautiful wood!

Jack, lovely barlow!

I've mentioned that I'm making the effort to carry a knife for about a week or so rather than switching daily. But rather than using a spreadsheet like Gary does (and I'm not mocking it, I think that's pretty cool) by the weekend I start to hear one of my other knives calling to me. "pick me, pick me!" (perhaps I should have played with dolls more as a child) :D

The Forum knife is staying in my pocket a bit longer:

And for the watch pocket:

Thanks buddy. Nice Gun Scout. Wish I still had mine.

Bob - Thank you buddy.

Thanks, Ron. :) I won the Sodbuster in a BigBiscuit GAW over a year ago, and have carried it ever since as kind of a reminder. (It also introduced me to the charms of Case jigged chestnut bone.)

Love the wood on that knife, Ron! Good to see your giving some time to as many pieces as possible;):D:thumbup: I put my NYKCo in my other pocket...just because.
