Found this old gem and tuned it up! The blades took a razor edge and it still has terrific snap!

Very appealing Ancient, Dean! (How do you light your photos with that black background?)

This week's "miscellaneous" knife is a Rough Rider clip/pen Barlow:

Thanks, GT. Natural lighting usually partly cloudy sunlight filtered through my blinds; nothing special.

I like the bone on that RR Barlow!

I am still under the weather so this old Schrade Cut. Co. should handle anything around the house today! ;)

Hope you feel better soon, Ron! That Schrade perked me up and I only saw the photo.

Taking to the high seas today

Great shot of that Cranberry treasure, Jeff.

I'm having soup for lunch today; I probably won't drop this soupbone in it though.

Lotsa nice knives and pics today!

Cheers Ron:thumbup:

I can't read the mark on yours, Sam? I like the looks of that!

I have this little Boker with me today. I like to CE & CF this one.

Thank you Sam.:) Terrific photo and knife!

Beautiful Schrade Ron

Felt like some blue today :).

Thanks Tom.:) Blue is cool!

Thanks Dean! :) A good hot bowl of soup is exactly what I needed.

Thumbs up again everyone!

Thanks for the comment Tsar.

Great pair of knives nifebrite! Terrific rope knife Jeff!

My two today are a Grohmann in stag and a Swissbuck Taskmate I.

Sorry Gary, it's one from Al Warren..:)

I do like those Bokers, just wish they made it a touch bigger

I was guessing Al Warren, thanks for confirming. That's a fine looking knife.
I like the Bokers size when I have some small cutting task and want to be discreet about it. I almost always have a bigger blade with me also.

Couple beauties you have there, Sarah. The rugged beauty of the TC and the stylish beauty of the WLST.

Cool pics guys

Snow and cold here Mr. Jack - have a fine day and the Oates is a fine one !:thumbup::)

Thank you very much sir :)

Thanks, Jack. :) Good to hear you've gotten a break in the weather, and could post your parcels while pocketing that preeminent pair!

...

Another couple of cool cutters, Jack! You just happen to have a Jolly Roger to use for a backdrop for your rope knife?? That Oates penknife has SO many desirable features!:cool:

Thank you GT :) As for the Jolly Roger, you never know when you might have trouble with the neighbours! ;) :D I bought the flag for a mutual friend, but figured I could get a pic out of it! :o ;) :D

A newly arrived WLST (it's my first) getting some pocket time today.

Very nice

Taking to the high seas today

Looking good Jeff, wishing you fair winds and full sails!

Cool pic

Tsar Much appreciate your words on my Forum Knife. I'm really delighted with it and the pile side is no horror either...Fingerprint grain

You hit the bocote jackpot with that one.

Thanks, TB. :) As I mentioned, I gave away the Buck 379, so I can't check its grind directly, but my recollection (supported by a couple of photos I have) is that the Solo was a saber grind too. (I'm not real adept at identifying blade grinds in real life though; I've seen the standard internet diagrams of the various blade grinds, but I can't really tell you, for example, what grinds my Opinels or Rough Riders have.)
...
My "big knife" for this week is a 5" Rough Rider fish knife that's perfect for picnics (if only the weather would cooperate):
This week's "miscellaneous" knife is a Rough Rider clip/pen Barlow:

I already know RR makes a nice medium Barlow, but I really dig that fisherman too. I ordered an acorn-shielded dogbone jack today, maybe I'll leverage the wonderful low prices of RR to help bide my time until I can budget a proper amount for knives in the future (aside from the money I'm already putting aside in hopes that Charlie's dynamic leadership takes us to the promised land of a '16 forum knife :D).

I am still under the weather so this old Schrade Cut. Co. should handle anything around the house today! ;)

The covers on that Schrade look a lot like a Kent jack I picked up on a lark. I wonder if it's a Schrade product too...

I see your illness hasn't impacted your knife-judgment. :) Get well soon!

Camillus #69 Slim Stockman and Schrade 33OT Jack.

Camillus sure did some wonders with that jigged Delrin of the 80s-90s. For a synthetic, it looks and feels pretty great. You have a fantastic example, and the Schrade is a beaut too.

Taking to the high seas today

Why can't I do the snake knot that well? I have a lanyard at home I'm making for my carry TL-29 but I just can't quite get it looking as good as yours (3 attempts already!) :grumpy:

Beautiful rope knife, sir!

Found this old gem and tuned it up! The blades took a razor edge and it still has terrific snap!

Nice Wolstenholm. The French ivory looks almost immaculate!

Felt like some blue today :).

Never leave home without a Barkie, huh? :p :D

My two today are a Grohmann in stag and a Swissbuck Taskmate I.

That Grohmann has an outstanding slab of stag on it. Exemplary knife!

The owl on the left looks positively blissful. Must be the Charlow. :D

Thank you GT :) As for the Jolly Roger, you never know when you might have trouble with the neighbours! ;)

Cap'n Jack Black is preparing to sail the seven seas plundering and pillaging all forms of classic cutlery. Turn over ye Sheffield steel, scurvy dogs, or ye be keel-hauled forthwith! Yarrrrr! ;)

Went a little nuts on carries today -- I pocketed Mac and the week's EDC Challenge knife, then on the way out of the house I snatched not one but two Barlows to add to the pile. I guess I'm testing the notion that if everything's better with a Barlow, then it must be twice as good with two. :D

All Beauts Gev:thumbup::thumbup: Really like that Green Cell/synthetic on the left, most unusual handles.

Thanks, Will

Thank you kindly, Will! It's an old Curtain and Clark in topographic cell;) One of my favorites. A lot of Indians in that picture, I just noticed:D
