What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Fairly new to me, this single blade sowbelly has been proving itself a worthy companion. Robust, yet thin and comfortable to use and carry.
Only wish I had know this one sooner.

Traded for this from one of our outstanding members in the south. Got it used, so it's the first TC Barlow I've been able to bear dropping in my pocket and using. It's a 2012. Sorry the photos won't rotate properly.

Been a few days since scrolling this page. This pic hit home and made me pull out the only knife I have that my dad actually carried, and gave to me when I was young. Wow, brings back memories. What a great old Western.

A knife your father carried and gave to you, and it's still in great shape. What a treasure to have. :)

Wonderful TC Robb:thumbup:

I've been keeping an eye out for this very SFO #76...I'm very happy to have picked this one up, thanks Dan:thumbup:

Beautiful knife! Is that a #92?

Thank you and yes a 92 in Autumn gold.:)

Thanks, SSS! It's nice to have a user TC and I agree with you about the colors.

One of the nicer TC's !:)

A jigged steel custom - quite different and interesting !:)

I've been keeping an eye out for this very SFO #56...I'm very happy to have picked this one up, thanks Dan:thumbup:

I sure would hate to try inlaying that shield ! Nice one Paul !:)

Mr. Jack - two fine old knives again today by you.

As requested. It wasn't perfect and I thought it looked lonely and wanted it to feel the family of things:D

" Meanwhile the sun and the clear pebbles of the rain / are moving across the landscapes, / over the prairies and the deep trees, / the mountains and the rivers. / Meanwhile the wild geese, high in the clean blue air, / are heading home again. / Whoever you are, no matter how lonely, / the world offers itself to your imagination, / calls to you like the wild geese, harsh and exciting— / over and over announcing your place / in the family of things."

Mary Oliver - "Wild Geese"

I love that knife! Great stag too.

Gevo - Thank you for the photos. A beautiful old knife that has served its owners well over the years. :) And thank you for the compliment on my 76! :D

Ken - A beautiful old knife, just some outstanding stag!

A terrific photo of that Sowbelly. A great looking knife. Is that the Amber Jigged bone? I haven't seen this in a single before.

Paul - Prayers still sent your way my friend! I saw where you had snagged this #76 SFO. I have a 76 Jack in Stag and I love the pattern. I am glad you got this one and I hope you enjoy it. :)

Got out went to a ground breaking celebration for our new Minor league baseball park. I had a Kershaw speed safe, a SAK and my Western 3 Blade Stock man.

Too busy today to give The Porch the attention I'd like to on a weekend; maybe tomorrow? But I did notice that Primble had the same idea I had for this weekend:

...
In honor of the beautiful canine Buddy, I decided to carry these two knives - in memory of.

R.I.P. Buddy Boy !
...
(both knives previously came to me via his kind owner)
I added a couple of knives to my week's carry this morning as reminders of Paul and what he's dealing with right now.

Thanks Ron, it's actual called Antique Bone. Case used it on several 2002 models but it so close to Amber Bone it's hard to see the difference unless they are side by side. I'm really liking the slim single blade.

Thanks, Paul! I'm enjoying the freedom to carry this one since it came to me used. I love the Muley shield! I'll have to keep my eye out for one. I believe it's based on the #76 pattern, not #56, though. If only that knowledge entitled me to ownership. ;):D

That's a cool shield Paul. Pocket dump today.

Flabbergasted every time I see that knife. Cutlery perfection!! What more could a person want. TC Barlow + incredible mammoth = one-of-a-kind beauty.

Thanks Rob, you did a wonderful job on your last shield, with your skills I'd say you'd be just fine with the Mule inlay:thumbup:

Thank you Ron, and it was your terrific Stag #76 that got me carrying my #76 UNXLD twin of the "Krak a Jack"

Very nice knife Wolf:cool:

What a looker! What's that cover called?

Thank you traumkommode, the covers are Copperhead Jigged Bone:) unless your referring to the SFO pattern name? Then it's called the Krak-a-Jack. I'm actually unsure but believe it to be an SFO, commissioned by who/m I don't know:o I can't find any info in the 2012 release info on GEC's website.

Gary, yours and Robs carry means an awful lot. I showed both of your posts to Nanc earlier and it was very special. Nanc is AMAZED at the camaraderie here on the traditional forum:thumbup:

Robb, thank you as well, you are correct on the pattern, a typo on my end although I'd like to blame spellcheck:o:D

@ Chief Thanks John for your earlier comment and I agree with Robb, what a gorgeous TC, even nicer that it's carried and used:thumbup:
