Nice Canoe GT, not sure I've seen an Imperial Canoe before

Beautiful Gev

Great pic Jack

Thanks Tom, yet another great combination my friend

Switched this evening to my beater barlow for cutting sandpaper.

Cutting sandpaper...surely you jest:eek:

A very weird winter here, it was like spring at the beginning of the week, snowing heavily outside now  Carrying these two Sheffields today, by Christopher Johnson and Arthur Wright, quite a few years between them I reckon ;)

Snowing!

The top knife is my favorite and the bottom looks quite useful! Thank for the compliment on my old Ulster. It was a gift from Duncan and Charlie owned it at one time:D And the old art deco stepper keeps perfect time, unbelievable really:p

Primble - I am sure he would trade it back for that Russell. :D:thumbup:

Gev - That is some more knife and a beautiful photo my friend :D

Mark - That is a beauty! :D

As it turns out I was not alone in my choice of what to tote today!:D

Great looking Camillus!

LOL! :D

Beautiful pair. LOVE the top one!!

Thanks a lot guys, the top knife is probably about a hundred years older! :D

Gev, that's a fine pedigree my friend

Lots of nice knives on show!
The weather here in the UK is pretty bad, so I've been carrying my Spanish Taramundi knife to try to bring some Mediterranean sunshine into my life! I finished work early today to pick my children up from school, so I have with me an old and well used SAK Spartan that I bought in Bakewell in Derbyshire when my eldest daughter was a baby; it holds some great memories of a wonderful holiday and great times since then.
My favourite knife up until recently was a Case yellow CV peanut that my lovely wife bought me when our youngest was born - an amazing gesture as they're quite expensive in the UK and times were tight. That little knife went with me everywhere...but somebody broke into our locker at the swimming pool and cleaned us out, knife and all. I will replace it one day as it's left a big hole in my pocket, but I'll have to wait for the funds to accumulate as the kids are a big drain on the finances at the moment (not that I'm complaining)!

Nice canoe GT, not sure we have seen that previously?

...

Thanks, gents. :) I posted the Imperial canoe and its mini-canoe brother in the new additions thread once: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/s...e!?p=15500218&highlight=imperial#post15500218 and I think I also posted them in the notable pairs thread soon after their arrival.

As always, very desirable daily duos that you're sporting, Tom and Jack!:thumbup:

And welcome to The Porch, Walkingman! It sounds like you have some very meaningful knives; sorry that you lost that birth-related peanut. I have a Taramundi that I picked up while visiting my daughter in Spain about a year ago, so it has sentimental value as well as being a very capable knife! :D

For no particular reason, I decided I needed something hefty in my pocket tonight. A Schatt & Morgan Heritage Series Woodsman with lovely bone covers and 1095 steel in Clip, sheepsfoot, and pen blades fit my need to a T.

You’re not kidding about that bone. Beautiful knife!

The MJ Crown Jack got some pocket time this stressful day....and it helped to center me

The accumulated pocket time on that jack has really made that bone pop. I love the naturally pocket-worn old folks like that. Great photo, too!

Picked this up at the Lewisburg PA knife show, replacing my Peanut in my watch pocket, a small Case whittler, I took and modified the pen blade into a coping blade as the other two had a similar curve at the tip so having three seemed redundant to me and the coping is mighty handy to use.

Awesome photo, Gary, and that coping blade came out masterfully!

Sunrise with my Peanut

The ol’ yeller really does look ethereal in that lighting. That might be the key to winning the photo competition GAW. Thanks for the idea! ;) :D

Usually one of the knives I carry is SAK. Today I went with two Forum Knives.

That Congress jack is such a cool and unique knife. Thanks for sharing, Ken! :)

Cupid's Arrow

That’s a fantastic Ulster, Gevonovich! I’ve had two of them slip through my fingers recently, but I don’t think either one had such a full master or such beautiful bone covers. More proof that everything’s better with a Barlow. :D

Like little worms as I pulled up to vote, two opposing parties campaigned behind the lines. I made quick work of their propaganda with the Viper. This Viper is sharpest knife I've gotten from GEC.

Those shifty politicians never stood a chance!

Today it is this Robeson Peanut with lustrous red bone and the Case Swayback that keeps finding its way into my pocket most every morning.

That SBG is so nice even in the “newer” Case red bone, I can see why you’d carry it so often. These two make quite a notable pair, I think. :D

As it turns out I was not alone in my choice of what to tote today!:D

Love seeing that knife, the smooth old bone is both elegant and full of character. I only hope that when I eventually stumble across an old Camillus Barlow it looks half as good as yours...

Rams horn peanut tonight, a Steel Warrior.

Beautiful file work on those bolsters, but that horn is the real star of the show!

My new Case Mini Copperhead, nice knife

Awesome photo, and seriously nice jigging on that Case! This thread is never helpful when I’m trying to cut back on buying knives... :grumpy: :o

Switched this evening to my beater barlow for cutting sandpaper.

That’s your beater Barlow?

A very weird winter here, it was like spring at the beginning of the week, snowing heavily outside now  Carrying these two Sheffields today, by Christopher Johnson and Arthur Wright, quite a few years between them I reckon ;)

And to think I’ve heard the northern part of the country is rife with sunshine this time of year... :D

Imperial Bowie

You don’t see those every day. Great find! Thanks for sharing.

I feel obligated to at least post some of the knives I'm carrying this week. The envelopes, please:
Stockman of the Week: the winner is ... Ganzo stockman (thanks, Dave)!
SAK of the Week: the winner is ... Vic Huntsman!
Canoe of the Week: the winner is ... Imperial cracked ice canoe!
Watch pocket knife of the Week: the winner is ... an ebony EC Simmons Keen Kutter (thanks, Mark)!

I thought of you when I picked up the canoe I carried yesterday, GT. Is that Imperial one of the Taylor-made knives? It looks pretty tight, almost regal really. Did you brush the bolsters or did they come finished like that?

I hope you’ve got that stockman and the barehead Keen Kutter with you for WW today. :D Great stuff!

For me today:

That Camillus always looks like it fell out of the old catalogs. Your Northwoods might be the spiritual successor to the Barlow I’m carrying today. A fine pair!

My Russ for the day.

:grumpy: *grumble* Another amber bone Case I’m going to have to add to the family. :o Nice Russlock, Mitch! :D

I passed out almost immediately upon arrival home yesterday so I didn’t post the rather hurried photo of Tuesday’s carry -- it was a brutal day. The green canoe is (surprisingly) a Rough Rider, went from the mail on Monday night to the pocket on Tuesday morning.

I photographed today’s Wooden Wednesday carries trying to return to their roots (so to speak :D):

Primble is killing it again!

Here's mine, been carrying this one often of late...

As promised for a few inquires...closed profile.

Stunning Primble Mr P

And to think I’ve heard the northern part of the country is rife with sunshine this time of year... :D

LOL! :D Strangely the sun came out later! My house is south-facing, so all the snow melted on my side of the street, but not on the other. I was explaining this to a young waitress later in the day, and when I told her we got the sun on one side of the street, but not the other, she wittily remarked "You must live where the rainbows are." :D

Early start for me tomorrow, but I'm going to be carrying these two :)

Beautiful Lamb's foot for Wooden Wednesday, Jack.

That is a super keen looking knife, GT.:)

Ulster Knife Co and Benrus Skyscraper

Ulster did a great job on that one, Gev. Long pull spear blades with ebony always look good.

The American and the Brazilian today

Those are both a couple of lookers! I particularly am drawn to the American Whittler; its great all around and the shield makes it perfect.

Ebony and African Blackwood for me on this wooden Wednesday.
