What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

I'm carrying a GEC, Northfield, Calf Roper. Too nice to lose, but a waste of fine quality not to carry. Retired my old Case CV stockman for the GEC.

Arghh, I can't get the lighting correct, but you get the idea.

Today, and probably for about the next week, I will carry my Case Stockman 6318PU with CV blades.:thumbup::thumbup:

Sunnyd, that easy open jack is awesome!

Much Obliged, trey! :) ..

These are really fun vintage type patterns to carry in the traditional slipjoint Genre! :D

Chris,

This pattern is among my most favorite of all and goes well with the Case family of Stockman patterns that I love like the # 64047P, # 6347PU and of coarse this beauty, the # 6318PU..

Great EDC choice, pard!. Once one discovers all the diverse uses of a good punch blade, the're pretty difficult to live with out! ;)

Best Always,
Anthony

I was carrying the sowbelly again today and spent some time sharpening it this morning. Sometime during the day that sneaky mini copperhead got in my other pocket. All-in-all they make a nice pair. - Ed J

Higonokami made by Kanekoma...it came from japan a little rough, polished the edge up and cleaned the burrs off the handle that it came with but under $25 for a San mai blade is good.

This is a traditional japanese folder, cant wait to get the handle to patina and the iron the core is wrapped in to darken.

I'm carrying 2 of my newest GECs. A #66 Calf Roper with Black Micarta scales and a #33 Conductor with Ebony scales and a coping blade secondary instead of the pen.

Trand, that a special run of Conductor? No bail but Northfield markings and a Cope blade? Very nice.

Today, Tidioute Barehead Dogleg in Amber Bone. This sliced its way through very tough netting around 3 cubic metres of firewood I had delivered. That lot took some stacking:eek::D

This is going back a couple of days... But that pen blade (or is it a spear blade?) is awesome.

Just got this one on Friday and it's gonna be my Sunday knife... at least for today.

Nice "Norfolk", Jake and thanks for the comments on the Preston stockman. Rusty put his own touches and interpretation on that blade (which ordinarily would be the "spey").
With the deep belly it really compliments the cutting edges and profiles of the clip and sheepfoot blades.

Here's another stockman of Rusty's I own (3 5/8" closed) with a more "traditional" looking spey blade:

Built like a tank. A very solid knife.

Hi Will, yes, its the first of 4 special runs, each with a coping blade instead of a pen. There will be 2 with Ebony (darker then GEC's usual ebony) and 2 with real Stag (from a private collection). One of each handle material with and without the bail. The first run is spoken for but the other 3 may show up on one of GEC's dealer's websites as an exclusive.

Really nice knife. I haven't really warmed up the the bail but am very fond of the long pull on the Northfields.

Going out to my sisters horse-ranch this afternoon to ride a bit and for a Mothers Day fest. I have this old Case in my right front pocket so as to be prepared for what ever work I may have to perform on the B-B-Q and whatever else comes my way.. :D
