What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Kerry Hampton: "Eureka Jack"

Wow, that's amazing! You make me feel like I'm practically slumming around town with my steel Northfield Sunfish with snakewood scales.

I haven't owned a Schatt & Morgan in a while and picked this one up off the bay the other day for a resonable price. 100th Aniversary Jack, the scales are buffalo horn and the shield is inlayed mother of pearl. There are some nice striations in the horn and I really like the shape of the secondary blade, it's got more of a defined point than most pen blades. The F&F is good, not like what GEC is putting out these days but on par with most Case knives I've owned. Anyway it's in my pocket and I'm happy, here are a couple pics.

Just this, its proven itself a good work horse...got tired of carrying a modern folder at work.

Taking advantage of the unseasonably cool morning (mid 30's) to carry this beauty...

Glad you like it. Life's too short not to carry what you enjoy.

Similar to what I've been hearing from Tony Bose for years, my father who passed on a couple of weeks back never could understand owning something (however beautiful or costly) if you weren't going to put it to good use. In his honor I intend to carry and use many or most of my most treasured high end knives.

Hey Elliott sorry to hear about your dad. Never a fun thing. I hope your doing ok.

I've got my Case Yellow Full-sized trapper in CV. :D Love the snap! I'm working on a nice patina. Just cut up some pickles for my kids.

My 5 in 1 is custom, if you call a Plasti-Dip handle after I broke the original handle from hammering on it custom.

Just for today, no yard work, but lots of shop work and it is a handy one.
Khnutbuster by my friend, Mr. Kerry Hampton.

Elliott - That HTT is a beauty!

Thanks, John.

Enrique scaled it down to 4 1/4" from the original pattern. Rides in the pocket really nicely and the edges and swedges are the bees' knees! (The scales ain't too shabby either!)

I carried the Case sowbelly experiement the last two days and it's getting some use too. My cousin ownes and operates a resturant in Arcadia (The Country Cottage, if you're in the area) and someone had put out a pregnant female cat which took up there and had the kittens about a month ago in a corner of the building next to the front entrance. There are three water features in the front garden of the entry and the kittens were scrambling up the rocks to the walk. My cousin was concerned that they might fall into the water and so I got some slick cardboard and made a barrier to help prevent them from getting in harms way. Time will tell if it works long enough for the kittens to lose some of their clumsiness. My wife and I are going to adopt two of the 6 and one of the ladies that works at the resturant is going to adopt the "runt" of the litter. They are nearly big enough to make it without their mother. Anyway, that's what I did with my knife today.

Ed, I'm pretty sure I said it before, but that Case script shield looks might good against that razzleberry bone!

Thanks, Jeff. I like the script shield but it does look good on a dark contrasty scale like these. I certainly like the cranberry bone. - Ed J

Ed,

Wanted to complement you here regarding your efforts on helping out some of GOD's defenseless baby critters.. Good'n on you there, pard! .. Incidentally, I do get to visit my brother from time to time just north of Atlanta, GA.. Next time I am in the area I'll check and see where Arcadia is from his neck of the woods.. :)

Here is the slipjoint of choice the last several days. An old Easy Open Jack that I am just now having the pleasure of breaking in..
