A blue day today.

Jack, that's the one I posted in the Lambsfoot thread recently, the E. Blyde & Co Ltd.

It really is a beauty

Have a great day, Jack. Show us your newly found treasures. Very nice WR.

Thanks my friend :) The only thing I have a pic of so far is the 1806 Halfpenny I found. Here it is with the knife I'll be pocketing tomorrow, my scratted bone Ancient TC Barlow

......your "undaunted and emboldened" attitude in the face of "epic failure" is inspiring! ;)

Thanks GT! Love the bear companion for your Explorer.

This is the sheath prior to sanding, glueing, and staining, I was checking it for retention and it is very good. Not sure if the belt openings will hold long term though. It was meant to be a learning experience, and it really was. Hopefully I end up with a usable sheath too.

Nice Barlows Primble, Tsar and Dean.

I found a whole bunch of knives at the farmers market this past weekend. Among others I picked up these two.
A Grohmann in a pattern I hadn't seen before and a Vic Cadet II.

Have a good one everyone.

Thanks, Ken. Good catch on the Cadet II. I've never seen one out in the wild.

Always good to see an Ancient, Jack. Good find on that George III halfpenny!

This old dog today. She ain't got much spring left in her step. but she can still cut.

Glenn - That is great old Case knife buddy. There is something about the jigged green bone and the swedges on those pre-1940 knives that reminds us why we are on this sub-forum. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you GT. Still likin' the Sowbelly. ;):D

Seven days of two Barlows - Day 3:

Thanks, Primble, I'm still likin' it too! :D
And speaking of likin', you're showing off some gorgeous Charlows this week, but it's your older Barlows that really raise my blood pressure!! That Diamond Edge is bewitching!:thumbup:

I came across this pic while "cleaning" my phone. I had taken this on opening day of Maryland deer season, and couldn't get it posted due to phone/BF/Photobucket issues when using my phone. It deserves a post. I carried this knife, that day, as it was my Great Grandfather's deer hunting knife. I don't think it is ancient, he probably bought/carried it in his later years. I never knew the man, but my Dad gifted this to me a few Christmas' ago and I feel like he is with me when I carry it.
…
Cool knife and story! What an awesome keepsake!

…Only that it has no maker's marks. I picked it up in a junk shop for a few dollars and don't have a clue to its age or origin. Solid enough worker, though.
Thanks for explaining the mystery, Rachel. :)

Today's loadout, a familiar pair:

Oh, and my new 'yote just arrived.

Welcome back, Tsar; I admire your commitment to trying to catch up on the huge backlog of posts that accumulate in a couple of days, but it requires more energy than I can usually muster! Congrats on the new GEC 18! In the Rough Rider thread, I acknowledged your RR green canoe, and here I have to tip my hat to that majestic NKCA gunboat/canoe!:thumbup: Who made that gunboat?

…
I felt ancient today. This Barlow finds its way into my pocket more often than any other.

Superb Ancient Barlows and splendid coins, Dean and Jack!

Have a good one everyone.

Whoa, you’ve done it again, Ken! I checked my secret “wish list” that’s buried on my desk, and sure enough, a Cadet II is prominently featured. Congrats on your fantastic new acquisitions! (I think I need to find a map to your farmers market! )

Have a SAK along also today, with the Itty Bitty

That’s an amazing azure Farmer, Steve! I admire the lanyard on your fixed blade, too; is that a bootlace? Does that lanyard style have a name I could look up? I'd like to learn to make one like that (and I much prefer bootlace lanyards to paracord ones).

…Thanks GT, great-looking Sowbelly
…
LOL! :D Only a rusty Ibbersons clasp knife, a worn Lambsfoot with a tang-stamp I can't read yet, a nice corkscrew, and an 1806 penny today. ADEE bought me lunch though :) :D
…
Thanks, Jack. :) Sounds like your trip was a success! ;)

Thanks GT! Love the bear companion for your Explorer.

Thanks, Tom. I enjoy the photo of your sheath project!

Thanks for keeping us updated on your Barlow month, Ben!

I didn't even have to look to guess you are in Michigan when I saw the petoskey bear.
Yeah, thanks, it's a pretty cool "state stone" to have! ;)
