Thank you, Whetstone!Very nice Claus, simple elegance
Picked this up today. The older gentleman I bought it from kept it in a plastic baggie. Is that the reason for the stain on the Blade? Is it possible to clean it off without screwing it up? Any advice is appreciated.

Absolutely beautiful Paul. Mark outdid himself on that one. Looks like he's really upped his game. Great gift from a great friend.
Congrats, it's one heck of a knife!
VaVaVooM!! that's beautiful Paul - congrats!!
Awesome!
Thanks, Jack.
Those are 3 smashing Case knives my friend, lovely bone. I think the Swayback is particularly handsome
Thanks, Jake.I love the contrast between the patina, the deep rust red and the brass pins on that swayback GT. (Bowling was fantastic, I rolled a 210, 249 and a 257)
...
Thanks, Steve; my problems is I dont check in regularly, so my recap actually covered what I considered highlights from TWO days.
Just a few ole Barlows in my pockets today:

Glad you enjoyed your mood-altering experiment, Tom; I looked forward to what combo you'd come up with each day.
Thanks GT, it was a fun experiment. Interesting too in how much just having a bit of color or sentimental favorite with me did elevate my mood this rainy week.
Nice trifecta of Case goodness
Yesterday I attempted to make a horizontal leather belt sheath for my SAK Farmers. It was a failure of epic proportions. Undaunted and in fact emboldened by the experience, I am going to continue the project this week as I have about 7 feet of usable leather remaining.
For me today:

Speaking of those nice ole barlows, I just happen to have an ole one in my pocket today. Got this Schrade Cut Co in this week and finally had a chance to get some photos. Needs a little spiffing up, but not bad for a ole gentleman.

Great-looking old pruner, Rachel!
Thanks, Primble; me too!Like all three of those Cases GT !:thumbup::thumbup:
Congrats on that totally ravishing Fish Barlow, Paul! This WONDERFUL knife arrived late Thursday as I was headed out to ready my work truck for an early deck season, worked late so no time to chicken eye and coon finger. Up early and on the road to clean/prep 4 decks for staining the following day...no time for devotion:grumpy: Up early on on the road Saturday to stain the decks I prepped the day before, worked late and STILL, NO TIME for devotion.....UNTIL an hour or so before sunset today:thumbup:
Tomorrow will be a good day as this will ride with me all day long
I LOVE this Fish Barlow brother Mark!!!

Thanks for showing that knife, Claus! I dream of acquiring examples of simple work knives from around the world. (And I have a weak spot for knives with animals depicted on their shields or blades!I really enjoy carrying and using this little simple slip joint knife by Loewen Messer from Solingen with a carbon steel blade and plastic handles on steel liners. It is simply called "Arbeitsmesser" (work knife):

Fine old centenarian, Jack!
Classic choices, Ken! Congrats especially on finding that red, old cross Pioneer!
Today I'm carrying a Case Barlow from the late 60's and Vic Pioneer that I found at the market this past weekend. I already have a Pioneer but I couldn't resist.

Thanks, Tim.Fantastic knives today everyone.
A worry stone and Lanny Clip. I found 5 of these white stones in the forest surrounded by muck and brush.
Decided to see if I could balance them as a game. Nice way to find balance and patience.
