What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Looks like the stuff dreams are made of, Kris! What are the red-branched bushes next to the creek?- GT

Thanks Gary, those are willows. I am not sure what kind, but they are darn near impassable in summer. The moose love to hang out in them, as it offers great protection from being seen.

Spending a nice evening with my ladies, these two fine knives are with me,

Jerry Halfrich front lock Hidalgo in Mike Norris "Hornet's Nest" stainless damascus and a Jack Russell fixed blade, in M4 tool steel, hardened by Jerry to 62 RC, both in highly chatoyant, old growth redwood burl. Sheath by Paul Long

Thanks, Tim. :) The bolded sentence means nothing to a photography philistine like me, but I sure like the knife and pic!

- GT

I love the recruit GT, probably one of my favourite SAK configurations possible.

Jerry is a class act and a great guy to talk to. Beautiful pieces Kris.

Tim - It appears that you were in good company today as well, my friend.

Thanks Ron, I think you'll like this one. :) Blade/Liner Delete, satin bolsters, and lightened of the dark chestnut into an antique amber sawcut done by a wonderful modder.

Thanks Jerry, you have a good eye, always appreciate your comments.

Kris

The Hildago is a big knife, the burl is stunning. I had a conversation with Jerry at Blade a few years ago about making a knife for a customer in M4. Evidently it was ground so thin the owner actually wrinkled the edge, Jerry straightened the edge out and is still going strong. M4 is one tough steel, it develops an attractive (to me) patina. One thing for sure, Jerry knows how to work difficult material.

Today I went with a Case 6208 and a Vic Popular. The blade on the Popular is stamped ELINOX, which give me a timeframe for its manufacture, but the alox scales don't have a cross on them. I tried to look that up but couldn't find any info on it.

Nice one Turk. I've been carrying mine that I modified into a single blade. The tip was broken and the scales were in poor shape but I was able to salvage it into a nice back pocket carry

The cat has developed a dangerous but amusing obsession with my knives:eek::cool: She likes to knock them down from tables and carry them off in her mouth dog-style:confused:

She knocked this one off into the wood basket then tried to retrieve it even though it was open aarrghh!

The Osage Orange is mellowing nicely despite feline vandalism...
