Thanks!That just Blue my mind.
Good looking Barlow.
There is nothing like a fine TC to color your week!
Indeed.
Careful... Traditionals are a full fledged epidemic here.
Nice Esky! Really need to get one of those Northwoods in denim Micarta.
Just checking the ABCs of my diet, I'd have to cut out (among countless others): alcohol, apples, baked beans, bonbons, bread, and chocolate!Just cut out all sugar and use the knives to sweeten things. Those sweet ones will do fineThanks Gary ...always enjoy your comments!
Thanks, Jack; the photo is from TWO falls ago, but it's one of my first attempts at a knife pic, so I appreciate your kind words!... I like your classic line-up, three great knives. I particularly like the pic of your Electrician
I love the cardboard cutout of the peanut that you always post with the knife GT. I don't know why but it always makes me laugh a little (not at you of course!!)
...
Jake and Dan, that "cardboard peanut" you guys see in my apparently ambiguous photo is my attempt to whittle a congress pattern replica from a big blackened chunk of wood chip mulch I found under a bush at my bus stop once upon a time!!...
Thank you GT For my all my Mora knives I really do favour a neck carry set up. Usually run a leather boot lace because I prefer that to 550 cord other synthetics. I find that that in any season while outdoors the neck carry is always comfortable and very convenient for me.
Great carries there! Curious... How's the Walk and Talk on the cardboard peanut ?
...
Finish ( hopefully ) the work week with this in pocket.

That's a distinctive duo, Ken; the grain on your Forum knife is splendid!...
Today I carried a last years Forum knife and a Vic Popular.

Congrats on the Bower Barlow, TB! That's a German brand I only heard of quite recently.
Thanks for IDing your Esky handles for me, Tom; that giraffe bone is grand!...
HA! I would have thought it would be peanut sized, that is surprising. Guess they did have more to cut now that I think about it. The zulu is giraffe bone, which is supossed to be extremely dense. It has a warm feeling to it and I really like the complexity.
Boy howdy, you guys are posting up some real beauties !!! colour me green with envyI recently picked up this small Rough Rider whittler, 3" closed and rides in the watch pocket just fine and while it certainly needed to be sharpened up, it did so well and seems to keep the edge too. Has a split back spring, so one each for each of the smaller blades and combined for the main spear point blade.

Thanks Jake, it's an inexpensive knife that's surprised me by it's build and usefulness.

Rough Riders Rule!!...
I'm not much of a proponent for Rough Riders but that one does it for me on multiple levels.
Fascinating photo, Rachel; that Coyote has coloring very similar to a ripening strawberry!
Best wishes for your challenge!Seeing this and your pictures in the #38 thread inspired me to change out my knives this morning.
I bought one of those Farmer Jacks when they came out, but I haven't used it yet. I just wasn't sure how useful or versatile these blade shapes would be. I'm going to challenge myself to carry this combo all weekend:

The glowing oxhorn never ceases to amaze me, Jack!
Ooo-la-la! Tres bon, bonzodog!!
That's a beauty, jrawk! The mini copperheads, especially with the wharncliffe main, sure have been grabbing my attention lately. I think it might be Will Power's fault with his frequent extolling of the virtues of single-spring knives!pardon the bad lighting

Good to see your AG Russell scout again, Tom!
Thanks for your testimonial regarding Barlows, Atiger!![/IMG]![]()
Cattaraugus Barlow today.
5K Qs, I find these pretty much the same way as everybody - shows, dealers, and even the big auction on that interwebz thingy.
I've just developed a strong fondness for old barlows. They're beautiful in their form and craftsmanship, they each have a unique history about them and a story to tell. A 50-80 year-old knife can wind up in a lot of pockets and see a lot of places in its lifetime. I guess it's true with all old pocketknives but the barlows just seem to speak to me.
Thanks to you and all for your comments - love this forum.
I especially like that stag on the left! Can you tell us more about that one, Tsar??
FBC, your Kutmaster is "the berries"!!
My attitude is, "The more, the merrier!" You get used to carrying a few extra ounces, and won't regret it!!They looked so good, I pocketed them all.

Condolences, Ken; I hadn't heard the news until I read your post....
I'm a little bummed out as my hockey hero Gordie Howe passed away today.
My carries are a Vic in red for the Wings and a Northwoods in blue because that's the way I'm feeling!

Have a nice evening all.

Looks like a great pair to get a guy through a busy week, Ron!I am so far behind I am not going try to quote any of these pages full of beautiful knives that I have missed this week. However I sure am enjoying looking!
I have actually been totin' one or both of these all week. Sort of a rarity for me.Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Sure wish I could post a picture of my new Boker Plus Barlow. I do enjoy it so.

Gevo, looks great! I love the look of the old files. Maybe I missed it, is that just a scraper at the end of the file or is that part sharpened as well?
