I have the same Imperial, it's one of my favorites and takes and holds a decent edge. :)

You mean like this? ;)

Today I threw the old #23 in my pocket, I think I'll get a belt sheath for it as it's a big hunk of a knife. ;)

The imperial does take and hold a nice edge . Mines almost ready for a touch up .

Carrying this one for work this week. It's probably the most expensive knife I have that I don't mind getting scratched up and dirty. Its like it wants to be used.

I haven't ventured into this thread as much as I did. Not sure why I haven't, the photography is fun. Catching up a little. Too many great knives to mention.

Bob, hope you kick the cold soon. Machhina, congrats on the family. Great fore thought on the barlow. I hope your family is well and that you fueled up on sleep before your new arrival.

Carried this one quite a bit, and today. I love the 77. All steel and single bladed runs would be great.

Fabulous specimen, Ben!!! Must be a pleasure to use:thumbup::thumbup: Great photo with the old lumber:D

I left home in a bit of a hurry this morning headed for Sheffield. Had this Crown Penknife by Harrison Fisher with me

Fantastic covers on that one Jack:thumbup:

Finally, a GEC I can carry on these humid, sweaty days:

I just had the same knife arrive today Comeuppance  I like it a lot but just had to make a minor adjustment:o

Elegant simplicity for me today

That encompasses all that a Jack Knife should be Gev, very nice my friend:thumbup:

That's a pretty faithful companion ya got there Erik:thumbup:

Fantastic knife Ben:cool:

I feel you - I almost closed my blade on the bail more than once. I'm going to try a lanyard and see how that affects the experience before I just up and remove it... I might get a tritium tube and stick it in the hole the bail would leave if I do end up removing it, though, which would be pretty neat.

I was thinking of just putting the bail pin back in and either lightly peen then sand flush. The tritium tube would be really nice:cool::thumbup:

You have some of the sweetest vintage knives, Jack, and that shadow pattern is no exception.

I have this guy on me today. Love this little fella - thanks again Bob.

I couldn't have said it better!

I love the 77 barlow, but what I would REALLY love is a run of all steel Yankee jacks with a coping secondary.

Thanks Paul. It has really been a joy to carry. The more character it gets, the more I want to carry it.

I totally agree with the coping. I have another in Osage. I've been dancing on the edge of cropping the spear off one of the pens for awhile now. An EO both would fit nicely then too.

One can't beat your 2 blade smooth Ivory Barlow. That's a gem!

Looks great Paul. Hope it wasn't too hard to get it off.

IMO it's so much better without it.

Interested to see how refitting the pin works out Paul...I don't think I'd like the bail either.

You gave me inspiration to hit the shop Jerry. Tapered the pin with a barrel disk on my dremel, re-inserted pin, nipped pin, peened, 400 Grit wrapped over the nose of a wooden clothes pin, progressed up to 2000 wet/dry grit with final wet sanding.

Almost dark here (sun set awhile back) so apologies for pictures. Will take some during daylight tomorrow. End result...I like it much better than the vacant hole:thumbup:
