What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Wish I would have bought one if those, fantastic picture

It's a love/hate knife. The craftmanship is better than any other scout in my collection, and it's absolutely beautiful. GEC did everything right on the Texas Camp model. But it is huge and heavy. It's a lot to lug around, and requires some creativity to carry comfortably. I really hope that GEC makes a normal sized scout pattern some day....... in canvas micarta...... with a swedge spear main blade........ and a flathead screwdriver style caplifter........

Came home from a trip away and the garden is a wilderness. I got torn into it today with a little help from my friends;

I thought that was the attraction?! :confused: :D ;) :thumbup:

That's a good-looking knife! Can you share any details about it?

(When I see TAD, I think Triple Aught Design, and I didn't know they'd ever made a traditional knife.)

I should have caught this myself, Dadpool it is a custom Todd A Davison folder, 3.75 closed with a sheepsfoot blade green linen with orange liners.

Grandpa's old Case knife today. I cleaned it as best I could, it's been sitting in a box for at least 20 years as far as I know, and is in dire need of a sharpening and some real TLC.

Thanks Josh and redsparrow. Josh, yours will be beautiful. I can't recall one bad Elk that GEC has ever produced. It's like I want that one, no that one. I saw photos of 4 #15's in Elk and I would have been happy with any one of them. They're all eye candy. I'm passing on the Elk #74's. About the same size as my #99 which never stays at home.

Plus, the CSC forum knife has been in my pocket a lot lately.

It makes the perfect whittler, and I e been thoroughly impressed with how the steel is holding up.

This is an awesome 5318. It looks like it's in pretty good shape for being tucked away for two decades. Lovely stag and nice full blades. Plus it's your grandfather's knife, which makes it even more special. Carry it with pride. :thumbup:
