Thanks, Gary! Some knives just beg to be carried and used. The longer I carry some of them, the harder it is to let them stay home. I carried my first Sodbuster, Jr. for about a year - I was seventeen (several decades ago). I probably would never have switched knives if I'd had that Chestnut you're carrying.
Thanks, Dean.

I won that Case Sodbuster Jr in a BigBiscuit GAW and have carried it almost every day since it arrived. I should post it in the "what pattern surprised you" thread since I like it much more than I'd have guessed in advance (and it's a good reminder to pray for Bob and others, too).
Case Saddlehorn today. That banana really didn't stand a chance
Whole lotta circles in that bedtime snack, Mike!

This a new MAM to me
GT and I like it !!! (Perhaps it's the hint o sodbuster to it )
...
Looks like it was a sodbuster day for many of us.
Thanks, Dan.

I think a post by sitflyer first made me aware of this MAM model, and I procured one soon thereafter. Your Farm & Field is sure a textbook example of the sodbuster pattern!

Very, very, nice GT.
I always look forward to which of your knives earned their keep.
Each developing beautiful character through time.
Thanks for the encouraging words, GuestWho; they mean a lot coming from you, since I always admire your knives and photos.
Outstanding pic of the Imperial !!!:thumbup: Just fantastic!
....It's a movement, a fad; it's trending!

LOL, Yes,
GT trending for sure! We may need to start a new thread called "What City-Knife/Scout/Multi tool are ya totin today"

...
Thanks, redsparrow. I wonder if I'm suddenly getting more compliments on my photos because I've started using full-size images rather than "large thumbnails" from imgur, or if I just happen to be posting the few good pics I've taken.
I'll certainly read the thread you've proposed!
The variety and quality of this thread never ceases to amaze me, but the last couple of days have been OUTSTANDING. Great posts and photos all! A few that specifically caught my eye:

My favorite (so far

) of your canoes GT
...
For me today, carbon fiber and buffalo horn.
Thanks, Tom.

I really like the burlwood covers on that canoe; hard to believe it's one of my most inexpensive canoes! Marvelous feathering on your Queen buffalo horn scout!
Thanks for the kind words GT

Dave is a very generous member with great taste  You really captured that Sodbuster nicely my friend, great pic. I've had the same knife in black for a few years, and have found it an excellent user

I have so many knives I keep meaning to carry, but I am still under the spell of these two
Each of the knives in that pair certainly is bewitching, Jack! Speaking of spells, here's a relevant song:

I'm switching things up for wooden Wednesday - Northwoods EDB in cocobolo. I call it the Precious.
Cool photos of suave knives, Travman and Cannonball!:thumbup:

Thanks GT! It's my knife of the year so far

...
I got this recent 25 in a trade with a fellow forum member - I had something they really wanted and they had a 25, I'm always game for 25s.
It's nicely done, slightly more soft finished and de-horned than previous runs and nice deep angular jigging that make for that textured finish that I love on jigged bone. It has an odd pull, for a 25, in that it's initial pull is quite standard for the pattern (say about a 6/7) but the half stop to open pull is a mighty 9. I'll do some flushing work on it but there is no grittiness to the pull at all so I don't think it will alter much. very strange. I'm going to carry it and use it a wee bit though because I'm not sold on the eo notch at all and am going to try and overcome my distaste - I'm sure I'm in a minority here as most folks seem to favour them and indeed often mod knives for that purpose
have a good day folks
Paul
Wow! Knife of the Year is high praise indeed for your Orchard Gem, Paul!
Congrats on yet another 25! Superb jigging, and I'm certainly one who favors the EO notch.
A. Wright & Son Lambsfoot
I admired your 2 Sheffield knives in the "new additions" thread, Greg, but had no idea from the pics posted there that the covers were other than basic black. But this photo really depicts how complex the coloring on the horn handles of your lambsfoot is!!

In recognition of Wooden Wednesday, I had my recently acquired Old Barn Chestnut Boy's Knife with me on the hike this morning. Light as a feather in the pocket.
And back to the Calf Roper Slim for the remainder of the day (Cocobolo so it's still in the wood realm).
Congrats on the chestnut Boy's Knife, Dean! The straight parallel grain in the wood is fantastic!
My goodness, you sure have a fine cosmopolitan collection of knives!

I'm still carrying the TC to celebrate the birth of my daughter. I'm extremely blessed to be able to take 2 weeks off of work to get to know her (she's sleeping on my chest as I write this). Can't get enough of her! Even at 4 in the nothing when she screaming she's still the most perfect thing...
I think she is!
Congrats on the gorgeous daughter, Macchina!:thumbup: I saw the post saying you were at the hospital, but then missed any follow-ups. It's great to hear the end of the story, or more accurately, the beginning of the adventure!!

Other knives I'm carrying this week include a Rough Rider trapper and a little Imperial Diamond Edge jack sans its plastic covers:
