What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Aaaahhhh, Old Engineer that Tower Tree is a view that I miss seeing. Don't see it enough even though living only 65 miles from it. :)

Have been to Decatur and Ripley Counties in Indiana . In Greensburg , there is a tree growing in the Court House Tower.

When we got home , there was a 74 Mustang with Chestnut in the mail.

It immediately went into my pocket with my Normal Carry , the 77 and 73

Harry

Great pictures and great knives Harry!!! Fantastic new Mustang, great covers on that one:cool:

I love seeing unique things like the tree growing out of the roof as well.

Both of these #15's arrived today, the Chestnut in a great trade with a great forum member and the orange bone was a purchase.

OK! First things first. My home internet's been crippled this week as I find myself until next week for my new ISP to install their service. Sadly, I'm stuck tethering off my phone, so I have had to be rather economical with photos lately. But I did collect the responses to my little "flash GAW" and I don't have to waste a lot of bandwidth to make the announcement... :o

It was the 'yote that got me. :D

Oh, it's easy for the extra blades on the stockman to bite you when opening more than one. I'll guess you were trying to open the Spey when the 1/3 opened clip caught you.

Definitely solid logic there, but nope.

I guess it's the Lambsfoot. It's always the newest ones that bite.

Aww, Rey, I was expecting you would nail this one!

Nice new addition TB, please let me know how you find the pattern  I like your flash giveaway, and am intrigued. Like you, I have certainly had more bites while taking pics of knives than I ever have using them! :D Logic says the Stockman, but I have to put my money on r8shell, and say your new Lambsfoot! ;)

Want a third guess? :p

The lambsfoot is definitely an interesting twist on the jack knife. In a way, I guess it's not too much different than carrying a single sheepsfoot Barlow, which I've done before, but it's got more of a tip and the smaller profile towards the end of the blade lets it function as a more general-purpose cutter. My collection was also pretty sparse on blue bone knives so those fat jigged covers and sharp British carbon steel ensures it'll be a permanent fixture in my rotation.

Read to the bottom of my post and you'll see that the lambsfoot isn't the only Wright I ordered. :D

I'll pass on the GAW if I win, but I bet the little #18 got ya. The little ones seem to get me the most. They're just marking their territory. ;)

So we move on to the next correct guess! :o

Congrats on the new Wright lambsfoot, TB! What covers did you get? The buffalo handles seem quite popular recently, but from the perspective of that photo, I'd almost swear I see some kind of jigging!
(BTW, I'll bet you got nipped playing with undomesticated coyotes - you're old enough to know better, young man!)

Winner winner Coyote dinner!

The lambsfoot is blue jigged bone, a rather interesting texture I've only really seen on the Wrights or maybe the occasional Taylor's Eye Witness. I guess it's a Sheffield thing!

Thankfully, I've got (most of) your address already, GT. Congratulations! Your Taylor Schrade anniversary knife will be in the mail soon!

Rachael, Dean, Harry and jrawk, thank you for the kind comments. I haven't purchased a new Boker I'd bet for 30yrs. Second hand yes, but not new in years. I'm a CASE (vintage) knife guy through and through. Then GEC came along and set the new standard (in my eyes anyways) but this Boker impresses on the GEC level.

Brushed nickel silver bolsters, BEAUTIFUL Beer Barrel Wood covers (I love them) no gaps, radiused in all aspects, solid carbon blades. What's not to like. Rachael, I'm inspired to pick up other frames soon:thumbup:

Some of the big players in slipjoints are coming strong with their wood offerings lately. GEC's oil sucker rods, old barn chestnut and beer barrel oak are all recent releases, Case's old river logs make some excellent covers, and Boker's beer barrel wood knives are really calling out to me. I like this trend.

My baby's TC again today. It's her first day at the cabin!

A beautiful Barlow for a beautiful baby! I really like the idea of a birth Barlow. You're a great dad. :)

Here you go. It's actually a 6347 made in 1985. A fantastic knife!

Ooh, a big stockman. Even better.

Early Father's Day gift , since I work tomorrow! Schrade SC505 SS scrimshaw on delrin, 1988 is what she tells me. I hope no subliminal message with the skunk.

You don't often see those in such good condition. We might have to start calling you stockmansteve. :D

Thanks for your comment on my comment Tsar. Well played.

:D

Hope everyone is having a pleasant Saturday!!!

That sowbelly has some beautiful bone on it, you should carry it more often. ;)

Played around with forced patina for the first time today even though I was hesitant.
Pretty happy with the results [emoji1303]
Layed it on throughout the day in different time frames and cleaned it between coatings .

Amazing coloration! That's your first attempt? Well done.

Carrying this one today.

   Another gem of a Barlow. You and Charlie are like my Yodas...

About to hit the hay ready for a crack o' dawn start tomorrow. Got these two set aside with my keys and wallet

Abbeydale Jack's back!

You guys are really not making knife austerity easy. No more old barn knives 'til the TCs and Beer Scounts are loose! :grumpy: :D

Wooden Wednesday for me, an A. Wright Barlow in rosewood which hitched a ride across the Atlantic with the lambsfoot joined the MAM sheepsfoot and the OSR Beagle.
