What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Ha! I completely forgot about the no moderns rule and took one pic with both knives.

So, here's my obviously cropped carry for today!

You're a lucky man, GT...had I known the prize I would've played ball!! Congrats my friend. Well deserved.

Well, unfortunately I seem to be having difficulty locating the tin the knife came in (I suspect one of my nieces :grumpy:) so I may need to pass it along sans packaging as per my email to GT.

You may have dodged a bullet there. :D Import or not, the bone on that whittler is pretty sweet, so I hope it would get some pocket time. :)

An old Ulster today :)

Those Ulsters so often have such beautiful jigged bone. Yours is a great example.

Stickin' to the 22 today.

Until I saw a picture of that knife next to the 18 I had no idea how small it was. I kinda want one now... :o

Carrying my Beagle again today. This is just a fantastic little knife!

I'm starting to like that red linen micarta, though if I get another Beagle it'll probably be jigged bone. I suppose according to certain avenues of reasoning the micarta could be considered "natural" but I still think I prefer the feel of a bone or stag/horn traditional.

Today I got my UH med stock man and my Pioneer SAK which will have to be left in the car cause we are going to a Federal Building.

I've got a line on that new Pioneer X. An alox SAK with a scissors, what's not to love?

Thank you jack!

Like this Warnie

nighty night!

Thanks Luc :D

It was the 'yote that got me. :D

The wily Coyote!

The lambsfoot is definitely an interesting twist on the jack knife. In a way, I guess it's not too much different than carrying a single sheepsfoot Barlow, which I've done before, but it's got more of a tip and the smaller profile towards the end of the blade lets it function as a more general-purpose cutter. My collection was also pretty sparse on blue bone knives so those fat jigged covers and sharp British carbon steel ensures it'll be a permanent fixture in my rotation.

Glad you're liking it TB, for me, the Lambsfoot is the most versatile of all the straight-edge patterns  I've not tried any of the bone variants yet - no doubt I will! :D ;)

I think that's the best-looking A.Wright knife I've seen in that pattern TB, they don't usually do much for me, but that looks pretty good

Nice Ulster Paul

I have beer loving family coming to visit tonight, so I went with my fancy Beer Scout today.

I totally agree, I've been lusting after that once since he posted it! I haven't wanted to ask who made it because I'm afraid of what it might do to my bank account... I've just been carrying this old thing again today

I would bet my lunch that there was a small sunfish stamped onto the other side of the knife in question. Looks very reminiscent of Don Hanson the thirds work. I could also be completely off.

headed to the recycle center today. cardboard had no chance.
then meeting up with my daughter who turns 24 today...beer scout should be up to task

Great photography of a beautiful knife. Out of curiosity do you carry it in a slip to keep it that pristine?

No pocket slip and I've only had it for a short time. Paying attention to photo angles will hide the swirlies that form on the bolsters and shield. Keeping the stag oiled and clean helps maintain the look also.

While I can't see spending that much money on a knife to never use it, I also can't see spending that kind of money on a knife to abuse it and not take care of it.

Thanks for the comments guys, it really is a great knife!

Well said, Jake. That WT is a real beauty.

I haven't been posting much lately, been crazy busy. Number one son bought a new home and mama and I have been doing all the prep work for the move that was completed last weekend. Number two son and his wife increased our family by one, with the addition of their first child and our first Grandson! Lord I feel old!

I've posted this one a bunch of times already, but it's what is in my pocket today. Jerry Halfrich Small Rounder, CPM-154.
