OK, well, work was overwhelming this past week! Haven't posted much in the past week, and I was amazed to see that in this thread, one can fall behind by more than 20 pages (400 posts) in a week! I can't possibly comment on all the fantastic knives (and photos) I've enjoyed in this thread since last Sunday, but here are a few personal highlights.

It's probably no surprise, but I'm planning to carry the lambsfoot all week while I continue to get to know it. Please indulge me one more photo in a different light, this time at an early moonrise.

Thanks for offering to help, Jake.
Congrats on the captivating cannitler, Mike!!

Well done again everyone

Gary you are right, the Economy Vics had nylon scales. The one I posted was a Recruit.

I stopped by at my favorite antique store yesterday and found this chest. Had to buy it.

Unforgettable shot, Gev! We need more damascus with tomato worm photos around here!

First day with this one:
Congrats on that consummate Case canoe, neffarious! Awesome damascus!

Have been to Decatur and Ripley Counties in Indiana . In Greensburg , there is a tree growing in the Court House Tower.

That Greesburg IN courthouse shot is pure Americana, Harry! Fabulous finish on your wood handles!!

... But I did collect the responses to my little "flash GAW" and I don't have to waste a lot of bandwidth to make the announcement... :o

It was the 'yote that got me. :D

Winner winner Coyote dinner!

The lambsfoot is blue jigged bone, a rather interesting texture I've only really seen on the Wrights or maybe the occasional Taylor's Eye Witness. I guess it's a Sheffield thing!

Thankfully, I've got (most of) your address already, GT. Congratulations! Your Taylor Schrade anniversary knife will be in the mail soon!

...
Wooden Wednesday for me, an A. Wright Barlow in rosewood which hitched a ride across the Atlantic with the lambsfoot joined the MAM sheepsfoot and the OSR Beagle.

Thanks for that generous flash GAW, TB; that anniversary whittler looks sweet! And thanks for the info about the blue jigged A Wright lambsfoot; looking forward to future pics of the covers on that one. Also, congrats on the A Wright Barlow; terrific wood trio in your pic!

You're a lucky man, GT...had I known the prize I would've played ball!! Congrats my friend. Well deserved.

I haven't been posting much lately, been crazy busy. Number one son bought a new home and mama and I have been doing all the prep work for the move that was completed last weekend. Number two son and his wife increased our family by one, with the addition of their first child and our first Grandson! Lord I feel old!

I've posted this one a bunch of times already, but it's what is in my pocket today. Jerry Halfrich Small Rounder, CPM-154.

Here's to a great weekend everyone!!

That's outstanding grain on your A Wright lambsfoot, Mike! What kind of wood are those covers?

It's still Mustang o'clock at Chez Dadpool. :D

I enjoyed seeing your enthusiasm for this one, Dadpool, and the bolded sentence gave me a good chuckle!

I'm bristling today! :D Have a great weekend everyone

Fabulous times four, Jack! It's hard to resist the siren call of a knife in every pocket, isn't it??

Thank you, fit and finish is very nice, especially the pearl to bolster, an ant would not trip. A few more pics...

Holy Mother of Pearl!! Unbelievable, Kris; thanks for sharing some photos!

More knife content, and related! Some of my take from my recent Grand Tour of the Far East, knife-style:

Yowza! How about some IDs, please?

I didn't post any of the knives I toted last week, so here are some of them.
Stockman of the week: Taylor-Schrade 61OT
fTjaumI.jpg

Canoe of the week: Taylor Imperial cracked ice mini canoe (This one destroyed my left thumbnail when I attempted opening the pen blade at some point this week; I've never had that problem with this knife before. In fact, I've never handled a knife that was a literal nail-breaker for me before this incident! I wonder if I have a recent deficiency in my diet, or I was a victim of thoughtless poor technique, or lack of attention....)

European knife of the week: actually two, a big olive wood Joker and a Mercator Black Cat

Thanks GT, you were definitely in my thoughts as I filled my pockets! :D

I really like your review of the week, and that is a great selection of knives my friend

Thank you, sir :) Gotta love how easy it is to fall behind in this thread, but catching back up sure can be fun. Covers are ebony, and probably the thickest wood covers I've had on a folder. The knife's almost as thick as a two spring :)

Love the patina on the Joker too :D

Great pairing Mike

Thanks Jack!

Thanks Jack !
I'm really enjoying the Eskys [emoji1303]
Especially the new arrival in giraffe bone [emoji4]

Thanks, G. I had those two in my pocket most of the week, and one day I forgot to bring my usual clipped OHO with me, and I didn't notice till I saw it on the table at home.
Still carrying them today, I'm curious how the white bone will age.

I like that mod. Looks like he left you just enough of a nail nick to open it. I cut mine down so short I had to file a big easy-open relief in the handle.

Can't get this blade out of my pocket. Has proven to be a great blade. We will see if pocket time drops when my GEC #15 in stainless arrives.

So good to see your Presidential, Erik! Nice whittling job.

I'm totin' my Red spearpoint again today. Nothing like a good spearpoint!

As for the Far East Barlows, they are, from left to right: Romo J-206, Valor 125-B, Valor 11153, and two Sabre 29s. All five are from Japan. The Romo has been posted before in the Barlows thread (it's the one with the massively thick bone handles). The Valors do have certain differences -- different long pulls (albeit similarly-tapered; the 125-B rides further back on the blade and tapers off almost to a point), different swedging, the bone has different hues) -- so I'm assuming they were made by two different factories which may have stamped different model numbers on each.

Thanks, G. I had those two in my pocket most of the week, and one day I forgot to bring my usual clipped OHO with me, and I didn't notice till I saw it on the table at home.

I had no idea how small the 22 was until I saw a photo of one next to an 18. Funny how the gunstock pattern has such variance across makers. The two I have are much larger; one (the bartender's knife) is a little shy of 4" and the other (the gunstockman) is 4" on the nose.

Today I took a walk in the park (literally) and left the big CFK at home so as not to scare "the straights". Found an ancient tree that lent me some shade during the hottest part of the day, so I took some photos of my totes before I decided to make like a tree and leave.

My traditional carry for the day . Excuse the M&P my musket loaders are at the gun smith [emoji12]
