...Thanks GT, you were definitely in my thoughts as I filled my pockets!

I really like your review of the week, and that is a great selection of knives my friend
Thanks for the generous compliments, Jack.
Thank you, sir

Gotta love how easy it is to fall behind in this thread, but catching back up sure can be fun. Covers are ebony, and probably the thickest wood covers I've had on a folder. The knife's almost as thick as a two spring
Love the patina on the Joker too

...
Definitely exquisite ebony on your lambsfoot, Mike.
So you noticed my little experiment with mustard monograms on the Joker, did you? I need to find an applicator with a finer point!

I like that mod. Looks like he left you just enough of a nail nick to open it. I cut mine down so short I had to file a big easy-open relief in the handle.
I remember your carving Opinels with the EO notches; very cool!

In fact, I'm playing with a blade mod on a #6, and I remembered your photo of the bolt cutter you used on your project. That inspired me to look for my tin snips, but I couldn't find them, so I just spent a lot of time with a file.
A really nice aspect of Dave's mod that you can't see in the photo I posted is that he shortened the handle quite a bit, so that the "blade channel" runs right to the end of the handle, but he put a little spacer into the end of the channel to reduce the chance of the entire handle splitting out. Pretty ingenious; here's a pic:

I'm totin' my Red spearpoint again today.
Nothing like a good spearpoint!
Top Choice Barlow and superlative GSJ pocket slip, Dean! You're right, a good spearpoint can't be beat!
Indubitably, a notable pair!!

:thumbup::thumbup:
As for the Far East Barlows, they are, from left to right: Romo J-206, Valor 125-B, Valor 11153, and two Sabre 29s. All five are from Japan. The Romo has been posted before in the Barlows thread (it's the one with the massively thick bone handles). The Valors do have certain differences -- different long pulls (albeit similarly-tapered; the 125-B rides further back on the blade and tapers off almost to a point), different swedging, the bone has different hues) -- so I'm assuming they were made by two different factories which may have stamped different model numbers on each.

Today I took a walk in the park (literally) and left the big CFK at home so as not to scare "the straights". Found an ancient tree that lent me some shade during the hottest part of the day, so I took some photos of my totes before I decided to make like a tree and leave.
Thanks for identifying the Far East Barlows, TB! I like the bold blue jigged covers on your new lambsfoot!
Haven't been posting much past few months. Selling a house, moving, finding new house, moving again... whew. But I have enjoyed seeing all of your sweet knives wherever I could log in, truly amazing collections and EDCs. Thought this knife would be good for getting back in the swing of things, I am over the moon to own a piece like this, by Steve Dunn
Sounds like a very hectic stage of your life, Drew; I hope you and your family are starting to feel like you're settled in. Great to see you back, and what a triumphant return!!

 That knife is beyond outstanding!
Oops! Forgot to post my carry!
Arthur Wright Lambsfoot and Charlie's Anniversary Barlow today

Hope everyone has a good week
Striking pair today, Jack, a real "power couple"!!
And that's how the Friedrich Hartkopf, Solingen, really looks like.
Two blades, clip and pen, a rugged cap lifter (which helped today with removing some sturdy VHB Scotch Tape) and a functional corkscrew make it a versatile companion.
Thanks for the "unfiltered" view of your superb knife, ots!!
Hope everyone had a great weekend.
Grand pair, Tom! Your old Camillus scout is a winner with any of your fixed blades!
I probably won't get a chance to do any whittling today, but I'm gonna carry a whittler around anyway, grumble, grumble.
Happy Monday, everyone.
I admire all your old Bökers, Rachel!

How's the shield holding up in that whittler? Looks great!
Me, when I realized on my way to work this morning that I forgot to drop a knife in my pocket:
Barrett, when you dress that sharp, you can get by without a knife for a day!!!

I've been missing Primble's presence here lately. I hope he's still footloose and fancy free in his fishin' boat covering all the angles. One of my favorite things he did was when he carried two Barlows every day for a week. Now I know my paltry collection can't match Primble's in quality, but I might be his match in sheer quantity. Therefore, I've decided to do
two weeks of two Barlows, in homage to Primble. Hurry back soon, pal.
Day one -- I was distressed to realize I didn't bring along the regular Barlow I picked up during the Grant Tour of the Far East for photos, so I just knew I had to carry it today. Here it is, a Sabre 603 riding along with my Wolfertz & Co. single spear Barlow.
Brilliant, bang-up beginning to your fortnight of binary Barlows, Tsar! Looking forward to seeing the pairs you present.
...
I'm carrying another Barlow today (as I have each day for the last week). I have as much love for these as Tom Sawyer did for his Barlow.
Admirable Ancient, Dean! You are certainly a dedicated Barlowphile!

What follows are some of the knives I'm totin' this week.
Stockman of the Week is actually a Kingston cattle knife (thanks to Markesharp for the knife, and to Gevonovich for the expert advice on identifying it):
