What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

I just finished restoring this Morley and Sons Whittler and it is at work with me today!
Congrats on yet another fantastic whittler, Ernie!

Shapleigh Diamond Edge Again:
Big-league Barlow, for sure!

It's already Tuesday here, and will be first day back to work after the holidays :barf: Work is for young people I think :D that absolves me...

So, I need to carry something consoling, here a lockback Stag and Micarta fixed should help:cool:

Will, I love my job, but I'm struggling with the first day (or two) back in the working world after a couple of weeks away. :o
I always enjoy seeing your stag 83!

...
Gary

Its rain rain rain in Austin and surrounding states....I like it ( I was pounded on the road yesterday..no pics. But some real adventure. I did save a turtle ) but LA was hit hard! I hope it lets up for them.

Great covy your carrying today!
Thanks for the "on-the-scene" report, Gev. I hope you all dry out soon.

...
Gary, I wish it were, but it was warm and steamy yesterday and today. :grumpy: But with a good knife, all is good. :)

Today, again, I carried my Genuine TC Barlow knife.

I like your "motto", Dean, and that spearpoint TC looks like a Trusty Cutter!;)

Thanks, GT! I've sharpened the Conductor's coping and pen blades, but haven't done anything else yet. I still need to put a proper edge on the main. I'm also tempted to change the pen's curve a bit, but I think I'll leave it as-is for the time being. There's whittling to be done!

You're Opinel mod turned out great! Thanks for sharing the photo. I'd been wondering about how it turned out. I'd say exposing the tip of the blade was a blessing in disguise since it let you to giving the blade mod a try. :)
...
As for me, the past couple of days I've been carrying a favorite, the first knife I really bonded with:

Thanks for the info and the kind words, Greg; the Opinel blade mod may not be perfect, but it's WAY better than I thought I'd be able to do! :D
Awesome 34OT!

TC 14 today. Trying to carry a variety this week (although the 22 is always in my bag as back up).

qqot7RT.jpg
Sweet "Tiny Charlow", CB. I like your plan; I rotate my knives weekly for variety, but there are 3 or 4 that I carry at all times!

...
Oh my goodness, an open house 08? Is that a tan and white acrylic?

- Paul
Paul, in your ecstasy, you seem to be "speaking in tongues"! I have no idea what you mean, but I appreciate your enthusiasm!

Met up with Jack Black & ADEE today. I found nowt at the weekly flea market, but was generously gifted a unique Elinox advertising knife, a sleeveboard might I add, and a lovely old Taylor's table knife, from ADEE for my up and coming birthday. JB also kindly brought me a Cold Steel Kudu, which he refused to take back with him. ;)

I hope your impending birthday is a happy one, Thom! Looks like you have some good friends taking care to make that happen! I recently picked up a Kudu; quite gigantic to me!!

...
Here was one I got in yesterday, fixed it up a touch and am carrying today :)

Very nice work, Tim; almost like you "primbleized" that baby! ;)

Mucho naranja with your navaja, ThePeacent!

...
I could get used to this Barlow/Peanut EDC rotation.

Very nice pair, Shawn, and totally different from your Böker/green Peanut pair! How many different pairs can you come up with??

...
Carried my Haywood today :)

Excellent, Jack; that long, lean spear with the stovepipe kick is very cool!! May I request a close-up of the tang stamp at your convenience? Does it have an interesting creature on it??

More of this week's knives for me:
A Vic Secretary (thanks, Ken)

A Joker with asta autentica covers, from Toledo, Spain

- GT

Thanks, GT! The covers on that Joker are a delight. What's the closed length on that guy, if you don't mind me asking?

As far as my combinations go, I currently have 3 Peanuts and 7 Barlows. 21 combinations when I'm fully staffed. Three of my Barlows are in a box that I need to ship to Glennbad, though. I think I need to get a couple more Peanuts so that I can get a full months rotation out of them.

Thanks to Alan (joeradza), I've this peach of a yella RR barlow to pair with my yella peanut!

Good eye Paul! It is indeed a tan and white acrylic from the 08 Open House. My son and I hit the knife show in Pleasantville last Friday while in Titusville for the Rendezvous. He snagged it from a guy there and promptly traded it to me for my bloodwood 85 (which he has coveted since I got it). ;) The 25 is unused and is absolutely gorgeous! The same guy had a mint 26 in LVS Abalone from the 2009 Rendezvous and it came home with me. I'll probably put a pic up of it tomorrow.

Oh beautiful. I'm so jealous. It's unfortunate that I somehow got totally hooked on these wee Titusville beauties whilst living in the Western Isles of Scotland, I would love to be able to have a look around the various knife shows and have a blether with fellow enthusiasts in person. Great catch!

Paul, in your ecstasy, you seem to be "speaking in tongues"! I have no idea what you mean, but I appreciate your enthusiasm!

- GT

Sorry mate, I'm gobsmacked because it's the first time I've seen this cover material - only two of these were made amidst the run of barlows Mr Howard put out for the 2008 open house. Isn't it gorgeous! :)

- Paul

Some fantastic knives shown here today and yesterday!

Shawn: the yellow pair is incredible!
Ryouchijtx: I said it before ;) but you did a wonder with that TC Barlow. I love how you left just the right amount of character on her!
pearl2291: That Diamond Edge is spectacular! I look for a similar knife often (with plenty of use already on it), but haven't found the right one yet. You certainly have!

It's my TC New Day again:

Always a pleasure to see the Haywood, Jack :D Pulling kitchen duty huh:):)

Thank you Gev, I do love this Haywood, and some of its features fascinate me, particularly the flaring spring, incredible. I owe our friend Stephen for it of course :)

I hope your impending birthday is a happy one, Thom! Looks like you have some good friends taking care to make that happen! I recently picked up a Kudu; quite gigantic to me!!

The Kudu wasn't actually a birthday present, just a bit of a joke between Thom and I. We were discussing it by text, and I offered to take it over for him on the train, on the strict understanding I didn't then have to take it back! :D

Excellent, Jack; that long, lean spear with the stovepipe kick is very cool!! May I request a close-up of the tang stamp at your convenience? Does it have an interesting creature on it??

Three great-looking knives

The Kudu is quite a monster yes.

I think I saw something like it on Doctor Who once! :D

Nice set-up my friend

Nice pairing  :)

I decided to grab a quick hike just after sunrise this morning. I love this view... Along for the ride was my favorite small knife combo!

Big-league Barlow, for sure!

Thanks. Definitely one of my favorites

Thank you. I feel fortunate to have found this one.

That is such a beautiful Barlow...especially the sawcut bone!

Thanks. I think the sawcut covers were the main thing that draws me to this particular knife. Stunning TC also.

Cant seem to get this one out of my pocked Again Today:
