What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Taken the other day on Whidbey Island from a 109 year old lodge on Penn Cove. A great way to beat the heat! Place is so rustic, they didn't even have a shot glass for my Patron!

The building is post and beam construction with log infill, all cut off the property when the lodge was built in 1907. It's the real deal and pretty much all original with the exception of the later addition of electric lights and indoor plumbling.

Looks like a lively pair!

Today I carried a study in how different spear blades can be;

And learned a lesson in how far is too far to drop the kick on a Beagle.

That's a pocket full there, GT! I always get a kick out of a pic of a SAK Champ or similar all opened up! So busy.
...

... GT, that Vic Champ looks like it means business!
...

Looks like you are prepared, GT!!
...

Thanks GT, looks like you're ready for anything :)

GT, love that Hen & Rooster Canoe! I'm a sucker for green covers.
...
Shawn, Cannonball, Mitch, Jack, and Ken, thanks for the comments on my knives I posted this morning. The Champion is a much easier carry than I'd have thought (hanging from a little suspension clip on the edge of my LFP), and it does give one the feeling that with the knife and a change of underwear, one's ready for whatever the day presents! :p Ken, I don't consider myself a fan of green covers, but the green pick bone on that H&R canoe is exceptional (thanks, Will)!

Lunch time! :D

I really like that simple German spearpoint you've posted the past couple of days, Elgin! Who makes it?

...
I had this one on the hike this morning.

And this one the rest of the day (as usual).

That 38 is amazing, Dean, and the red bone spearpoint TC is becoming your Trusty Companion!!

...
I went with this Wilhelm Weltersbach today. I thought it needed a little carry time.

Have a good day!

That is a unique (to me at least) and fascinating knife, Ken! (Thanks for the additional info about the shell puller in a follow-up post.)

Congrats on your new DogPaw (and on your soulful canine buddy), Sarah! That model is showing up fairly frequently lately; certainly a striking design!

Thanks GT! It's a Robert Klaas KC38. I don't know much about it, and just got it yesterday, but I'm loving it.

Great pic Dan

Carrying these two today

Thanks Jack.
An awesome duo you have there. That stag has some mean character... In a good way of course. ;)

Awe-inspiring vista, Dan!

This week's carries for me include a Vic Champion, a Camillus electrician, and a Hen & Rooster mini-canoe:

Maximizing the hot summer here up North.
With those handy three in pocket I think you can accomplish almost any project that the day my bring. Very nice! :D:thumbup:

Homegrown carrots today!

When I was young my grandfather convinced me that fresh carrots grew from my ears.... Later I found out they did in fact come from a well loved garden he tended to... Either way seen this reminds me of those days.

Great knife and pic Macchina!

Talon in pocket today.

They also have cabins. My bride and I honeymooned in one of them some 33 years ago.

Nice photo!

Looks like a fine place to sit and have a drink, Barry!

Good looking knife, Ron!

Back to the 99

I think I've decided that I like the Nifebrite best on the Farm & Field models. I bought a #14 Boy's Knife in Nifebrite, and I don't know if it's the bolster or what, but it just doesn't do it for me quite like that #99, or my #71.

I had this Swayback Gent with me today.

Nice pairing

Great photo of that ivory bone, Jack!

Thanks Dean :)

Interesting knife Ken

Great pic of your Joker GT

Thanks Jack.

Thanks a lot Dan :)

Meeting up with Scruff today, so my bag is very well stocked, but I have these two in my pocket

Very nice Jack. Hope you fellas have a good day.
I'm still waiting to hear about your recent visit with Stan Shaw and that knife he's holding.:D

That swayback gent is excellent, Barrett. Great bone coloration.

Enjoy your trip, Jack! I'm sure we'll see plenty of pictures.

First one in puts the coffee on...

Very nice knife Ron. The 79 Frame is probably my favorite!
With the recent run of Fremont Jacks on this frame I started carrying my GEC Montana Workhorse as well... Conclusion: The excellent blade shapes on the GEC still beats the Fremont for a user knife!

I shared it before, but here is a comparison shot of the two #79 frames (Montana Workhorse and Fremont Jack). I got this 79 from Ron last year. It's a most fantastic knife!

A little osage

Nice elegant simple knife:thumbup: Great in hand feel too. I have the same but the liner-lock version.

Have you found the handles altering colour at all? Mine have darkened somewhat but not by as much as I've heard some people claim OO changes.

GT Grand to see that Little Green Rooster is still floating your boat

Thanks, Will
