What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

:

Lovely carries, Rachel . Do you think we'll be seeing your beautiful scrimshaw artistry anytime soon ;).

That's very kind of you to say, and since you asked, here's a work in progress:

I managed to crack the bone covers around the center pin while trying to do a modification to sit the blade lower. :( It hasn't affected the function any, so this will be a "learning experience" knife to experiment with some different techniques. I really need to order a few more white bone Rough Riders before the Xmas rush. :)

Love this little 14.

Me, too! And I love the subtle character in the ebony wood. It's tricky to photograph:

I've been away from this thread for a little while - 18 pages to catch up on. Missing my daily dose of traditional beauty :)

Haven't posted here in a while, as I've not changed my carry in almost two weeks. Love this little 14.

Understandably so, Mike. The 14s are easy to carry. Great photo!

Nice 22 Ernie! I've got my copperhead one with me today.

That's a dynamic duo! Those 22s have a classy look to them.

BIG SHIELD, little shield. :)

Now, that's some ivory goodness, Dee!:thumbup:

I was hard pressed to pick my knife of the week...I 'settled' for this gem. I actually came up with a name for this knife. I haven't done that with other knives, but I did with this one. Have any of you ever named a knife?

Out with the old and in with the new.

I love the look of that Fremont - I wonder what you named it! :)

My knives for the day.

Two favorites today,

Gentlemen's bowie by the late, John White M.S., pre ban bark elephant ivory and hand forged 1084 along with a Texas jack by Tony Bose. The sheath was made for me by Paul Long, with a Sam Browne stud that John file worked.

Have a great weekend!

Finally put the Esky out of service (12 weeks everyday). Despite my beauties that I haven't used and came home to...it was hard to put the Esky up.

...
I love the clip on that Erickson Serpentine Jack, his knives are beautiful but beg to be used. :)

Thank you Dan, GT, & Tim for the kind words on the 77. It still in my pocket today.

A lot of great knives posted over the days. Gotta love this thread. :D

Have a good weekend

If you're ever in Pittsburgh, I highly recommend Thin Man Sandwich Shop in the Strip District on 21st street. Best sandwiches in the city, great people, and reasonable prices. It's near the now somewhat famous Gaucho, and I say skip the lines and high prices for Gaucho and go to Thin Man.
