What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Nice 25 Paul

Today a krusius sportsman

Not my best photo effort...but a nice featherweight pen!

Nice old Utica, Ernie!

Think of it like this Shawn. In NY a pack is about $10, so every 10 days or so, you've got a new knife! These two non GEC's today.

Alan

Nice wood on that Teardrop, Alan. Good motto, Alan, "buy knives, not smokes!".

Great picture!

I quit when I was 25. I sat down and worked out that over the ten years that I had been smoking I spent in the region of £20,000 on cigarettes. (Sorry, nothing worse than a self righteous successful quitter)

I still smoke a pipe by the way :)

Nice little knife, Paul. I quit in my 40s (20+ years ago), after smoking almost killed me.

I remember thinking I was being robbed, in 1966, when a pack cost $1.00 in a NYC Grand Central Station cigarette machine. My how things have changed.

With me today. Ohta 3 1/2" Wharncliffe Trapper.

Went to Wakefield MA today and walked round the circumference of the pond with the little guy. Found some turtles and carried the R.Bose teardrop.

Looks like you had some great company all the way around!

Swear I had that box turtle for a pet when I was a boy, he traveled far for that photo opportunity.

That Bose is very sleek, great knife indeed.

While I know my Oeser is the only knife I technically should ever need, it's hard to not carry something else from time to time ;)

Today I have the 55 on hand

Now we know how you funded your amazing 25 collection.:D. Congrats on quitting--and on all those great little Barlows.

I never get tired of seeing that Ohta. It's one of the knives that really stands out in my mind.

Carried a few this weekend. The Orchard Gem was a favorite.

Terrific composition. The colors and setting make me feel like I'm in the woods alongside you.

Great knives all!

Thanks for the comment Jack.

Very nice Tim and rarreola.

I couldn't make up my mind which one to carry so I went with both.

Have a terrific day everyone.

Thanks, Paul and Alan. I quit for 3 years (when I was 23), cold turkey, but unfortunately, while out drinking with some buddies a couple years ago, I started back up. It's less frequent than before, but with the baby here now, I have to find a way to quit again.

Back to the knives: beautiful knives, everyone! I need to get my 25 back in my pocket!

My problem is I've done the math, so I figure, after I quit, I'll have the money for all the knives I'm buying now!

Great 55, RG! I had totally forgot about that version. I am sure they are as rare as my steaks by now but it can't hurt to look.... Can it? :D

I was lucky - it was my wife who gave me the nudge. I met her and started dating her and round about the time that I decided that I was going to spend the rest of my life with her she told me "I like you, but not lung cancer. You can have me or cigarettes but not both." It was the incentive I needed. [emoji33]

We went on a camping trip this weekend. For the first time in a while I didn't feel like I needed to bring more than one folder.

One knife and a blade suitable for varied tasks. Great scenery, too!

Today it's an old Ka-Bar-Lo...

Very nice! There's a lot of depth to that bone.

Raggy and Soupy are with me today.

And since it seems to be a theme, I quit 26 years ago after smoking for 20 years. One of the best decisions I ever made. Then I helped my wife quit. Together, we've saved six million dollars. :D

Thanks! Yeah the 55's are hard to find nowadays. I have grown so used to having the liner lock that I had to regift another 55 I was gifted that was lockless. If you find anymore with the lock on it just pass it up and let me know, doubt it works well for others and don't want you getting a knife that's no good :D ;)

P.s. your pic last week is what made me dig mine out again. GEC really needs to remake this pattern for more to experience. I would love to find a matching spear point with a lock to complete the set

Carried these two Barlow's over the Labor Day weekend. Both are good!

Obviously the Texas Oeser is very special, but the Sawcut Soupbone TC is a cool story.

Sent her away for awhile to a good knife buddy (Primble) but now she found her way back to me. Great weekend.
