What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Ernie: those tip bolsters (and the whole knife) are fantastic! What a relic!

Carrying this Scout on the first day of Autumn! The first GEC I bought new...

Uster with ?wood or bone? covers at work with me today. I was wiping up a mess I made in the kitchen and thought the towel would be a good backdrop. Luckily for me I snapped the picture before any coworkers could come in and ask me what on earth I was doing!!

Woah! That's a gem Ernie!

This one has been riding along since I got it at the Case store in Bradford. Nice little knife!

Going with a winter palette today to appease the snow demons... hoping for a long and pleasant Indian summer :)

I love, love, love this old Camillus C4. Much harder to come by than the Camillus-manufactured Remington R-4. The C4 has gotten a ton of pocket time since mid-summer. The craftsmanship on the 5-blade Camillus scouts from this era is truly remarkable. No blade wobble on any blade. Perfect walk and talk. Almost zero liner gap. And even though I'm not a gun guy, I love the brass 30-06 cartridge head inlay. The tool selection on this knife is outstanding. Wood saw, fat belly spearpoint main blade, secondary large coping blade, philips screwdriver, cap lifter/flathead screwdriver and bail. The knife originally had an infamous "scalloped" coping blade (read worst serrated blade ever), but a diamond hone fixed that quickly. The extra tool layer makes the C4 supremely comfortable in the hand; even for extended use.

That's just a shadow on the coping blade. The edge is straight as an arrow.

Just a great knife Kevin, I have the two blade version, still a stout yet slim carry.

Now tell me about that cool sheath buddy:thumbup::cool: It is a pocket sheath isn't it?
Thanks, paul. Gotta love those 79's! That's a pocket sheath for a Zippo. Shoot me a email if you would like info on the maker.

Flatblack: I love that Whittler! I had one once and shouldn't have let it go...

Had my Bullet Jack on me today. All the fancy works (pinched and lined bolsters, matchstrike pulls, corset shield, etc) kind of makes it feel like a really nice Rough Rider :)

Macchina, Thanks, This 79 was my first traditional knife love. Your 85 is one classy lady!
fbc, great patina on that Ebony.

Alan
Thanks, Alan. I do love a good patina. That Case of yours is one of the nicest stockmans that I came across. Are they still available or are they long out of production?

Very nice Case, Gary!

Awesome shot, Macchina.

I dig that Barlow, Pt-Luso.

I forced a patina with an orange this morning on my 14 to try to help with the pepper spotting. Although we don't have Fall temperatures, the humidity has thankfully dropped down to 60%. That should help, too. Still a 106*F Heat Index today, and when I pulled it out to take this picture, I could feel the wood was a little damp from sweat.

Really fine knife that one! I'd hazard a guess that it is very worn jigged bone but whatever, it's a beautiful specimen

Thanks, Will

I think I'm on my 3rd week or so with this pocket knife. I just can't put it up. I must have at least 15 new knives, but nothing has intrigued me as much as this knife. Pretty sure the #77 SFO Clip in green saw-cut will get its place. Never thought I'd enjoy a knife so much as this one.

As always, very well done everyone!

Thanks for the comments Jack and Gev.

Great Barlows Atiger and Gev. and very nice Wright lambertiana.

Today I carried a 2014 Forum knife and a 1982 Vic Soldier.

Yesterday's picture, but the knife remains the same. John Lloyd Lanny's clip in kingwood. 52100 blade steel for a nice patina.
