What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Why sure...a work in progress. A lot more work ahead. :D

Good looking GEC you have there, Dee.

My oh my, Dee!:thumbup: That's a gorgeous knife we haven't seen before. By whom was it made?

My carry today includes Number 10, my TC EDC and a Schatt & Morgan Heritage Jack I got from Bob (Big Biscuit) on the Exchange. The S&M has been "bobified" converting the pen blade into a coping style; it's a classy knife.

I appreciate your appreciating my one-of-a-kind RR small stockman, GuestWho! What's this golden UNXLD you've posted?

Wow! What knife is that one? Lovely!

It's the "wild" weekend, so I may carry whatever knives I want, independent of my weekday prescribed rotation! This weekend is a Case study.
My first Case, a stainless Delrin Peanut (from a Cory Hess GAW - thanks, Cory):

Another Case Peanut, stainless and stag, that I found at a gun & knife show:

My latest Case Peanut, a chestnut jigged bone CV model I purchased this month, after much deliberation:

Can't wait to see it all jazzed up! Keep us updated.

Dean & GT

Thank you! It may be the honeymoon phase talking, but it feels like a favorite. Maybe it's the way she wears that gorgeous yellow.....  :o :)

It's a GEC #54 (Whittler).

The pointy one :) :D is a.....

Jess Horn & Beretta collaboration.

It's a Lockback.

(P.S.) Have you guys ever considered going into business together? I'm pretty sure y'all have enough fine cutlery combined to start a storefront. PayPal ---> READY.   :p ;) :D

I switched from “unmatched” to “poorly matched”, but I like your suggestion even better, given the knife it describes; wanna job as copy editor of my posts?? ;) Cool Conductor, Greg!

You don't need any help from me, my friend. Your posts are practically perfect in every way.

Thanks for the conductor compliment. :)

Fantastic canoe, Shawn! I'd be happy to travel with it even without a paddle.

Always a pleasure to see pics (new or old) of your interspecies buffalo lambsfoot, Greg!

Thanks GT! And I am very happy to be introduced to your interspecies chestnut peanut! ;)

Today the Middleman was with me. After the chores were finished, a couple of its friends came out to play.

~snip~
That IS a stunner, Paul! I haven’t paid serious attention to the Case teardrops since I thought they were always single-bladed. But your spear/pen (or is it wharncliffe/pen) changes everything.~snip~

You should Gary, it's a lovely piece. Indeed it is the odd Zulu-ish spear which is a surprisingly versatile profile. The pocket worn finishing is well done, as is the bone but the extension spring is the detail that sold it for me;

... and it matches my new Land Rover;

A third chestnut CV Case, a swayback jack (thanks, Paul):

That cv SBJ is the bees knees my friend - it's probably Case' most sought after model :)
(I might have to go hunting - it looks like a pattern that would suit my tastes)

Paul What an amusing picture! :D:D That toy Land Rover is so realistic it looks actual size, for a moment I thought I was seeing the world's biggest Teardrop, size of a river canoe. Gives a whole new dimension to the concept of 'boat anchor in your pocket' Or are you a Race of Giants out there on the Isles.....:eek:

I had the same knife but gave it away, I too like the wraparound spring and the finish. I still use my Barehead Amber Bone single a lot as it's a light Gents' type and carries well. CASE actually do a range of these 2 blade Teardrop Jacks in other scales as well.

Regards, Will

Morning folks, still struggling with my internet connection here, and I'm afraid not everyone's pics would load :(

I'm happy to see this lineup return my friend. It's my favorite pairing of yours.

As usual, a fine pair for you, Jack. That stag Abbeydale evokes good feelings in me each time I see it!

Great week so far Jack, I echo everyone else with the sentiments that those two are one of my favourite pairs from you. Especially the stag usual suspect~

Thanks a lot gents, I could easily carry those two every day, in fact it's a struggle not to! :D ;) :)

Today it's my new Mason [emoji7]

Stunning knife, congratulations

+1!

Spent a good part of yesterday at the dentist. I had the SAK Electrician in tote.

Hope you're all fixed up now my friend, nice SAK choice there

That is an outstanding Maserin Brett!!! What is the Model to look for ?????
What is your opinion of the manufacturer ???

Thanks guys. :)

Harry mine is the small Country Sodbuster.

The buffalo horn this knife has is well above what I expected. At 3 1/2 OAL it is a sold knife and a tad thicker in the handle. I haven't measured, but it has to be a couple mm wider than my 81 stockman or my two bladed GECs.

The pull is a pinchable 5 and the edge came sharper than my GECs out of the box.

There is a noticeable gap between the horn and liner on the pile side (not sure if that is common w/ this maker) that can be squeezed closed and I do wonder if the brass will create any problems on the light colored horn.

However, Ive developed an interest in knives made outside of the US lately so at $45 I couldn't resist.

In Europe, they market it as the 'Marinera'. I've bought quite a lot of Maserin folders, and the quality is good I think - sadly they only do stainless. My horn Sodbuster also has a gap Brett, but it's the only Maserin knife I've had like that. I've had it about 4 years now though, and the gap hasn't got any worse

That’s one of my favorites of your pairings, Jack! Must be quite a load, though, with a buffalo and a stag in your pockets all day!

Thanks again my friend :) Not at all, with the single blades and springs, they're far from heavy  That's a fine line-up of Case bone you showed GT :)

Great-looking pair Brett

I had these two Barlows with me yesterday on a walk along the Huddersfield Narrow Boat Canal

And today, I have my Davison and Lick Creek Barlow :)

Have a great Sunday everyone

Going small (for me) today.
Number 30 Sheffield (thanks Jack), GEC #14 Boys Knife, and Case medium stockman.

Jack, I really appraiciate the insight on the Maserin. Good to know it should be ok. I agree with you as well on the sodbuster being about the only model I gravitate towards from them. On a second note, Im looking forward to my Wright & Son lambsfoot on it's way. :D
